He is going to drag us kicking and screaming to success next season. I know I am drunk but that is not the reason for my belief.
One in 25 chance of finishing 3rd in a 20 team league?
I agree we are playing for fifth place.Realistically (no TW yet so this can all change) I don't expect CL and think top 5 is the best we could get.
Liverpool and MC are so much better than us (i think only Kane and Son could make it into their match-day team, and might not even be an automatic starter) there is no comparison.
Chelsea is a good team and they recognize their biggest risk is lack of variation up-front (as shown against Arsenal final FA cup; only edge is Pulisic, and when he's out they dont' threaten, and Arsenal defence is shit). They are willing to take the money-risk to address it. They have an average defence, but not bad enough to melt. I also rate Lampard as a coach; he makes good subs and has coached his team enough to be able to execute those changes.
Man U: this team's main risk is Pogba. All that firepower will be nothing if Pogba doesn't play. If he does, then Man U's even better than Chelsea.
Arsenal: something big needs to happen to their backline otherwise I dont think they would even make it to EL
Leicester: similar to us. They have a better defence and midfield but we have better attackers overall. Our main competition for the 5th spot.
Wolves: very well coached especially in defence but I think they are over-achieving with what they've got.

Money can bring as much distruption as success - my aims - top 4 and a decent run in the Europa league.I think the most realistic route back into the UCL will be the europa league in all honesty. Top 4 is going to be tough considering the money Utd and Chelsea will spend and with City & Pool basically being shoe ins.
Mourinho has already won it twice and will actually take it seriously as opposed to Poch. Would obviously love a top 4 finish too though!
Top 4 is an absolute must. We need to establish ourselves as a regular CL team to attract the best players so we need to make sure dropping out of it was a one of rather than us reverting back to our old selves IMO
Would be good to get to the latter rounds of Europa as well but not at the expense of a top 4 finish.
The FA cup I'd like to see us go for if we drop out of Europa early
League cup I've never given two shots about really. Don't see why it even exists in the first place. Give the kids a chance IMO.
