Not a massive surprise.
Not a massive surprise.
Unfortunately, I can believe they'll be hosting the World Cup soon. Money talks, and FIFA's leading officials, especially its executive committee, are as easy to bribe as you'll find anywhere.I don't understand why there's any question about it.
They should be banned for the next two Olympics and also have all their other sportsmen/women tested ASAP.
Cannot believe that they will be having a World Cup in 2 years.
They won't send such a message while there's money to be made. Russian athletes, especially track and field, are box office, and that is the consideration that will prevail. The IOC's decision to allow the worldwide governing body for each sport to decide whether or not to allow Russian athletes to go to Rio is cowardly buck-passing, but not even remotely surprising.I'm amazed at the sheer audacity of the whole thing. Everyone knows there are athletes that cheat but to do it on such a scale and state sponsored is almost unbelievable. It's almost like the days of the Soviet bloc where it was rife and the female weightlifters looked more like men! They should be banned from this Olympics at the very least. Harsh on the ones that didn't cheat but a very clear message needs to be sent.
I thought the track and field athletes were banned and this is the other sports that they've ducked the decision on. Is that not the case?
The IOC has agreed to add baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding, sports climbing (had to google it) and surfing to the 2020 Olympics.
Complete & utter farce by the IOC to continue excluding squash.
