wow. Can not believe that "that moment" is being blamed on chadli!!!!! Dont get me wrong I like bobby but to say it was chadli's fault is a joke. About 3-4 weeks after that game we played qpr but it was Kane in the exact same position, and rounded the keeper and scored. That's the difference between a striker with confidence and ability and 1 who doesn't. Bottom line is he shouldn't, as a goal scorer even looked for options in that position but felt he needed to, so its time for him to move on. I wish him all the best and hope he scores shit loads for whoever bit no matter how long he is here he will never do that for us

He couldn't.

Any angle that put the ball further ahead would have actually been closer to the keeper.
IMO the blame lies with Soldado as he should have run to the right more. The reason Chadli is too close, is because Soldado runs to the left side of the center of the D on the edge of the box. If Soldado's touch on the ball when he is on the edge of the D takes him more to the right, then he opens his body up for a better chance to score himself, or to round the keeper, as well as taking the keeper away from Chadli, if he chooses to pass.

Yeah I think that's right. Essentially by running to the left he totally reduces the angle and makes it easier for the keeper to block off both angles.

If he goes to the right the keeper is really in no mans land and a goal is probably inevitable.

People are still trying to blame that shit on Chadli? Soldado could have literally done half a dozen things in that situation that were better than what he did. Could have flared out to the right and squared it, could have sold the pass and then shot the other way, could have rounded him, could have slid it into the bottom corner, could have hit it hard and low basically anywhere, could have chipped him, or he could have done exactly as he did only not fail to complete a 2 yard pass.

It was 100% on him...it was one of the worst botches of an easy situation that I've ever seen at this level.

My wife left me and that bastard Chadli is responsible with all his shaven body and stuff. My fat stomach and hairy back is suddenly 'not attractive'

Cheer up bud, you're not alone. My girl flat out touches herself right in front of me whenever there's a close up of Chadli.

Maybe she won't like the new bun look he's sporting :shifty:

I actually think it was quite important. It was a moment where nearly everyone realised that he won't turn it around and has to go.
Agreed. It was the moment I went from just thinking he'd been a well-meaning disaster in our shirt to actively disliking him. That was some unprofessional shit right there: he was too casual and we paid the price for it.. It's literally not an exaggeration to say that Sandra Redknapp would have been able to play that pass properly.

Cannot wait to see the back of him.

That's a much more credible story than the one trying to lay blame at Chadli ' s door for Soldado's ridiculous fuck up in Florence to be fair

Are you being serious - He was closer to being half a yard ahead - use the pitch markings for reference.

Chadli was running into the keeper's zone of control - no pass would have been possible that would have turned out any different, imo. The keeper was always getting to it.

Also note just how close he was to actually being ahead of Soldado at the point of the pass (i.e. longer stride meant his next footing was putting him ahead of Soldado)

Chadli should have been creating more space so that the keeper had to commit his whole direction - in the example above, he barely has to reposition his feet. He could have at least gone out wider (as per my mockup below)

Why you bring chadli into being in anyway at fault in this I don't know. soldado not only hits a dodgy pass but all he does is continue a run in to the centre of the goal (a goalies dream) soldado should have taken a run to the right to make space for either a shot for himself or a pass to chadli. So run out the the right post dragging the keeper with him then passing. This wrong foots the keeper into a momentum that makes the pass easy.

Running with the ball into the centre is amateur play from soldado let alone the pass. Make as many pictures as you like soldado must take 100% blame for this and chadli 0.

Disgustingly poor play from soldado that should not be defended in anyway.

You can stick it on a sofa and ask it questions about its relationship with its father all you like but - Chadli or no Chadli - a chance like that needs to be taken by a striker at the top level!!

The only thing that moment proved was the extent to which Roberto Soldado's confidence had shrunk.

I had a video of all Gary Lineker's Spurs goals when I was a kid. It is jammed full of moments like that, with Gary just rounding the keeper and tapping it in. No hesitation.

I wish him well, he seems a nice guy, but Soldado has been an absolute disaster at Spurs.

And this, I'm afraid, is the moment that will define his time here.

Don't take this the wrong way but reading that has made me want to shoot myself. Although if Chadli is in the vicinity perhaps he'll play a part in me missing.

Was it Chadli's fault he missed an open goal against Burnley as well?
Was it Chadli's fault he stands in the D doing fuck all most of the time?

Soldado has been an unmitigated disaster. Lets just sell up and pretend it never happened.

That man bun is flat-out hideous. Even more ill advised than whatever that is Nabil is sporting on his chin.

Confirmation of @vbarea's news. Fee agreed with Tottenham for Soldado. Only thing to negotiate are the instalments.

La cantidad por la que vendrá @R9Soldado al @VillarrealCF parece cerrada. Para su llegada parece solo faltar acordar los plazos de pago.
