this is coming to an end. Sorry it didn't work out but a strikers job is to score goals and he simply didn't manage that for us. He didn't put himself about enough in my opinion and this is best for all parties that he moves on.

Great money for him tbf.

Interesting to see how he pans out back in La Liga, personally think he's broken for good and won't return to any goalscoring form.

More likely his pride will be hurt at his failure in the Prem and he will work hard to restore his rep

I don'y actually know of the guy (N'Jie) but sounds like exactly what we need IMO.

“Njie is a weird one. I really like him a lot but don’t really understand why Spurs would want him as they want a central striker and he’s a wide forward.

“He can play as a centre forward but because he’s got express pace he tends to be used in wide positions. Per minute he set up more goals than anyone else in Ligue 1 last season.”

In answer to the Talksport assumption. N'Jie isn't the only player in the world, so it's feasible Spurs will go for someone else as well

The part about creating more goals per min than anyone in ligue 1 is wrong, Payet created more per min.

Think people are really being wishful thinking we've somehow paid a lot less than what was reported. Every news outlet at the time reported we'd paid the release few of £26M. That was what valencia announced. There was no mention of add ons by anyone, it was guaranteed £26M.

Then when it became clear he's one of the worst value signings in football history one or two English journos put a story out that he cost a lot less than what those same journos said previously.

Seems pretty obvious to me that was a deliberate leaked story damage limitation exercise by spurs to try and make it look like they didn't just burn millions on a total flop.

It was well known at the time that Valencia deliberately announced that we paid the release clause to placate their fans. When in fact we helped them out as they were in financial trouble but it meant we paid a lot less than the reported release clause.

Didn't know that. But cost aside, he was worth the punt given his goal scoring record in Spain. I'm sure he'll find form again. I think k it's an error letting him go without a replacement. I am ignoring the existence of ade of course.

Well known by whom? I've never read or heard anything like that except from Spurs fans.
