Could it be that the club see Sessegnon's future as being a wide forward?

He would certainly seem to fit with the other part of the ITK (a player who we thought we had failed to sign becoming available again), and many have suggested that he's best suited to an attacking role.

Ah HA!! The new Gareth Bale!:sneaky:

Wasn't there ITK about a baller who signed a contract and then had a change of heart and a lot thought it was zaha?

It wasn't ITK!!!
This one person's opinion may go down as the single most important piece of non-itk itk in the history of this site. It has literally had more legs than any other piece of information mentioned by jj, greyfox, breezer, gards, etc. Shocking.

Seems like it might turn into a race. Utd are interested, according to sky.

Just woke up sorry if already posted
Curious for an itk to swing in here but feels sort of similar to Sanchez where after we agreed a fee another team was immediately linked in the press as "showing interest". Ultimately it turned out it was always just us bidding and that was that.

No doubt lots of teams are interested in him but the reason we're moving now is ManU are busy trying to satisfy Mourinho's insatiable need for world class players so he doesn't have to play youth.

United: don't compete with us for sessegnon and we will sell you martial for £45m (plucking a figure out of thin air here)

I think I'd be okay with the above scenario as we're in a win now situation, I feel, in order to be able to keep our best players... can't keep having 'nearly' season.

He (and injuries) ruined Shaw, who plays in the same position.
To be fair the double leg break and Shaw's attitude in training seems to have ruined Shaw. Mourinho likes players with a tactical brain and from Mourinho's comments he lacks in game intelligence.

The more I talk to my Fulham mates the more I think we will play him in an advanced role. He's still very raw but has all the attributes to succeed. Hard to believe he is only seventeen, seems like he has been around for ages!

Would take that scenario any day of the week. Sessegnon is a signing based on potential where as Martial has both potential and current talent...

The injury never helped but the point is that Shaw was a young player and is still learning his game.

If this mup-wipe watches Fulham every week - I'm pretty sure he has little to no understanding about football and his opinion should be ignored.
Out of interest how many times have you watched him live to form your opinion of him? If there is anything that can be concluded from watching him it's that he is very raw and in defensive positions prone to make mistakes whilst he is still learning.

On the other hand in forward positions he has a lot of game intelligence and makes good runs. The comments were blatantly filled with disappointment at losing their most promising player and similar to most on here's comments about Walker you will always talk about the negatives when you might lose someone.

I am for buying potential but after yesterday's shit show finale it is a Poch on the pitch we need. A warrior, a leader of men if you will. Someone to come for that crucial last half hour to see our young squad through to full time.

Shouldn't this be in the Edgar Davids thread?

Interesting to see how much truth there is to the Utd rumors that Sky have peddled this morning. They certainly know more about how much United want him than we do ...

I thought that was the line that was used last week when Sky were reporting we had a bid rejected for him ...
