Since we all seem to agree Spurs' strikers performed poorly last season,...

On the other hand, and a brighter one, surely there is no way our strikers can possibly perform as bad as they did last year. I think we can and almost have to expect that all of them will be able to do better than they did last year. I mean, even if we were to not sign a striker, I think our strike force will have improved, just because it seems like last season we just got the worst possible play out of our strikers.

I'm not so sure. We just don't ever look like troubling opponents with these strikers. Even in the friendlies other than VDV we didn't look like scoring. I hope I'm wrong.

Sure they can as they are a year older now, their bodies that little more decayed and worn - and especially in Peter Cocks case - their minds a little more degraded.

It's painful because we finally have the great midfield that was not there to back up the wonderful Keane / Barby partnership we once had; we were so close to having the complete team. If we don't find the right pieces to the puzzle this season then possibly a few other pieces of the puzzle we have will be sucked away into the hoover that is United, Chelski or City and we'll be stalled again in our progress (probably with great strikers but no midfield again).

Still several weeks left though and I have a lot of faith in Levy.
