Yeah I absolutely agree, I don't mind for the smaller events for them to wear polos, but any of the major ranking events and in particular the worlds, it has to be shirt and waistcoat still.

I don't think America will ever take to snooker because the concentration levels are something they don't seem to posses with their sports. Sure they go on for hours but with breaks every 5 minutes and stoppages and over the top entertainment besides the sport itself. I like some American sports but yeah snooker just doesn't fit the model they have and commercially I doubt any of the networks would want to pick up a game that can often go 45 minutes without adverts...

Thanks again. I have to say, with regard to your paragraph which I've initialled...my first reaction to that has to be 'Thank God for that'.

But expanding snooker across Europe has to be a major objective I'd have thought. In the recent German Open, they said in commentary, that there's hardly any snooker actually played there comparatively, which I thought was odd. Surely there's a massive opportunity for the sport to be introduced in a big way across the entire continent.

I know there are a few ranking players from countries like Belgium, France and Germany but surely, there's an absolute goldmine waiting to be discovered and utilised there.

Already started, does come around every year quick er than before...

Going for Selby and hope he wins it just to rub the faces of those who complain he is dull... he is a bit but contrast in styles.

Ronnie this session just is on a different level, likes he’s playing with Gilbert.

Great frame of snooker that, thought Shelby got lucky a few times. Yan deserved it.

He always gets the run of the ball and he is such a negative player at times. Yan was just ice cold, what a player! I think he will struggle against a player like Ronnie, he just lacks that added level of creativity

Easy to forget Yan is only 23? I like Shelby I have to say, yeah he will always love a safety but he has some personality unlike most others on the tour.

Yeah definitely agree with that about Selby. It is just when his back is against the wall he can truly play some lovely stuff, but its not in his nature, like you mentioned, he loves his safety

Robertson with a 147 and whilst listening to Virgo commentary at the crucible. Nothing screams snooker and nolstalgia than that

I missed it because I was watching on rewind and BBC are constantly changing the channels they broadcast it on :banghead:

It has been annoying - ive got a series link luckily on virgin so it manages to record everything except when its on bbc4 or whatever it is
What a night of snooker that was, two cracking games.
Yeah it was - i do like those games which go late into the night... some decent match ups. Not sure what the brackets are but would love a Trump Osullivan final.

Looking like the class of 92 and Judd for the semis.

Think Ronnie finally gets level with Hendry this year.

Some good tight matches and drama but business as usual this year really. If you'd asked me before the tournament I'd have said the champ would come from 5: Selby, Robertson, Trump, Ronnie, Higgins, and add Williams as a 6th as the other who could win it. None of the others yet though. Kyren Wilson has been seen as the "next one" but just think he lacks a bit ultimately, Yan has everything and looks like he will in future but is still only a baby really, and needs to score more consistently before he does win it.

Interesting final four in that I'd say they're all neck and neck really. Williams looked the best in early rounds and is scoring big, Ronnie has been really disciplined, Higgins is the ultimate match player, and Trump has got there without really firing yet and if it does click is probably the best player with his record of recent years. I wouldn't like to call a winner tbh.
