Picking up on a post by VY in the AGM thread which seemed to go unnoticed.

Alot of people are talking about the surplus we will sell, eg, Bentley & Pav, in January.

We will be looking for favourable prices for whoever it is we sell, so who is out there who will be in the market for the people we are happy to sell for the right price? Birmingham possibly... who else?

Will the players be willing to go there?

Who would we be willing to sell too?

Giving that there are noises from Levy about selling before buying it will feasibly effect our own buying policy too..

Birmingham is obv our best bet.

Hopefully can offload Bentley & Hutton to them.... assume Pav will go abroad

Really can't see Pav staying in England, think he'd do well in Italy or obviously back in Russia. Who do Birmingham have at rb/rm? They can have both Hutt/Bentley for £15m.

Bring in Sandro and maybe 1 other. Can only really see Brum/Villa/City spending any money, maybe Sunderland too. Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea usually wait until the summer for any major signings, Liverpool are skint - as are alot of clubs it seems.

I think we are already seeing the type of deals that maybe the flavour of the month come Jan, in terms of the current swap rumours, like Babel for Pav or Pav for Welliton (sp?)....of clubs with money to spend in the PL, there arent many, man City, Birmingham may be villa....then you teams like portsmouth who desperately need to add to their squad but may not even be in buisness....may be we would swap pav for upson and green at west ham...

Sunderland I think will go in for Hutton as they desperately need a RB. Hopefully the go for a double swoop and get Bentley as well. Luciano Spaletti the former Roma coach tried to sign Pav before we got him, he has now taken over at Zenit so could make a move for him

The only definate is that Levy would have been working hard on thses scenarios for the last few weeks/couple of months, so that come Jan we can things tied up and our business out the way asap...

Surely Green - or any decent English keeper - will not want to come to us. With the World Cup approaching, and the No 1 spot up for grabs, every keeper's going to want first team football. Certainly I would, I'd prefer to sign for a rubbish team and make lots of saves while my side loses 9-1 than sit on our bench.

Ben Foster might be up for it, although if he's got any sense he won't.

Sebastian Larsson at right midfield who is pretty much the same player as David Bentley (not very fast, great right foot) only with stronger work ethic and a seemingly better mentality.

Cant see us selling to Villa or Man City (unless Hughes has a massive hard-on for Bentley and they go to 15m or something ridiculous).

Sunderland look likely, we seem to do alot of business with them!!

Birmingham, Man City, Sunderland will splash the cash in January and Portsmouth and West Ham will look to sell their star assets if they had any that is

Bentley, Hutton and Pavlyuchenko to Birmingham for 25m

to be honest, i don't think we need to sell before to buy, like what happened in summer, we spend heavily in last jan. to stay in EPL and that's why Levy balanced the books in summer, to make it around £20m net spend for each window.

at this moment, we have a load of players to sell as we didn't use them enough: Hutton, Bentley, Giovani & Pav.

Hutton: Mcleish could be interested to take him as he played good under him for Scotland, Everton as well to cope with injuries & might be Sunderland if the price is right.

Bentley easily could attract Sunderland intersted but Bruce seems unhappy with Bent saga so he knows Levy would ask a lot to get him.

as for Pav, i don't think he is going to accept a club like Brimingham, i think he would love a big club like Liverpool or Arsenal or Roma if they can meet asking price, while Liverpool & Roma can't & Arsenal as rivals, i can easily say he is going home to Zenit or other club for £10-12m ..

I also expect Gio to Deportivo on loan ..

I am really hoping Man City come in for Bentley for about 10 (they are the only club with money who like him) and maybe Sunderland for Hutton for 7 - Pompy for O'Hara at about 4 if they get sorted financially and Pav back to Russia for 12?

I would take 33 for them - gives us enough for a world class CB and Sandro, and maybe even enough for a back up veteran LB?

and hopefullt a Drogba style number 9 like Cole, and perhaps a promising young fourth striker (Moses, Wickham), and Adam Johnson.

surely chelsea since this will be their last opportunity to do so for a long time?

i can see arsenal and city spend money for obvious reasons and maybe also the 'big guns' liverpool and man utd.

everton to spend to compensate with their injury crisis? although they've already pursued donovan considering the fact that donovan will only be on a loan..

i can't see Man City are still interested for Bentley, because i can't see us still interested in Petrov after signing Kranjcar .. but hope these rumours about Micah Richards are true, i really would like to take him in swap for Bentley.

Richards is useful as CB, and Corluka backup .. which mean can cover Woodgate/King injuries and offer the attacking option if Hutton is leaving as well.

this give us options when Bassong & BAE are out for Africa.
