Main takeaway from the first three episodes is I miss Jan so much already and am so glad Eriksen fucked off.
I actually think Jose didn't mind Eriksen going, you can see Levy ask him to speak to him but Jose you can tell in his mind is like "okay for you boss". Either he was resigned to him going or didn't fancy him, he does specifically mention a player can make us more fluid but not have that aggression when talking to levy before about Eriksen and I think he valued the latter more than the former which is different to poch, levy etc

Some comments about serge's attitude but to be fair to serge, mourinho saying to him I don't trust you Infront of everyone in the changing room is hard. Whereas Alli gets the criticism on the training field one to one in a jokey way and in a meeting with him

I think people saying about no natural leaders, it's partly due to the foreign influence. I think Kane is the most determined and Dier / Alli would be there with him. Moura and Son seem to friendly with Toby and Verts being kind of the "old guard" who don't get too involved. Seems like everyone is a bit comfortable

Looking forward to seeing more of Lo Celso and Ndombele

I'm really enjoying it so far but this documentary certainly highlights the difference between what you're hoping for as a fan of a club vs the direction which documentaries like this are going. We want a transparent account of everything that happened to better understand the moments which have got the club to where we are over 12 months. What they're giving us is closer to reality television where the video editor is the star of the show and they're giving us a clear narrative in which they want us to follow. To show the early Poch stuff would have taken away from the narrative and their goal with the documentary. Instead they built the story with shots which are far more than likely out of context to paint a picture which has created a feeling of no animosity towards the players certainly nor the chairman. They've chosen instead to build the entire thing around Jose and I get the feeling this documentary will finish with a sense of hope going into the future now all the pieces are in place especially once Amazon name take our naming rights.

I absolutely agree with your “old guard” comment, let’s not forget that in 8 years that some had been with the club, we won bugger all. Yes, top 4, yes finals, but we were too comfortable and too nice.

Going in knowing that the club had final say on the edit and nothing damaging would come out of it prepares you for how to watch it. For what it is, It's good, I like it.

And mourinho seems to be the perfect tonic to that. He must really have woken the players up from poch's soft persona. He just steps out the mould/box all the time putting payers on alert. You can see why at United he ruffled feathers with how demanding he is, Kane on the other hand seems to love it

It's also made me realise, ultimately it's a job for the players and Jan spoke about it working for his kids

I wish they were doing a 2nd season so we can see what the voices of Hart and Hoj bring.

For some reason my subtitles aren’t coming up, it just shows a little black box, but not the words. Therefore I’ve missed the Dier conversations etc

which platform ? It worked fine on my end using iPad. Also on Amazon Fire too.

One thing I have found odd is that we haven't heard from Lloris at all. I know he was injured but being club captain you would think his say would be very important. Maybe they focus on him when he comes back in later episodes but just feels strange as he must have been around the team alot whilst recovering.

Nice little name check for Doherty pre Wolves match. Wonder if there was any conscious inclusion of that or just happy coincidence.

There were a few scenes with him talking to the camera in the beginning. Hopefully more in the second and last batch of the episodes.

Actually think the City one was better so far tbh. They're both hugely sanitised obviously but city's season was so good that they were forced to focus on some more human aspects (loads of stuff with the staff, even the kit man, for instance), whereas ours has so much onfield drama that it's basically just telling that story with the occasional insight into the changing room.

Not hugely getting the sense of anyone's personality bar Mourinho thus far.

Loved Sunderland til I die because it was so fan, people, behind the scenes focused

Didn’t watch the City documentary...

Probably just like the difference with the Premiere League and league 1 etc, it’s just so much more 'real' and interesting the lower down you go!

Anyone else gutted there are only 9 eps? Could spend the whole of today watching the stuff even if it is edited for a narrative feel like they've only had time to just touch the surface of the internal workings of the club

I am also glad it's edited, protects us and actually if I were an opponent I'd see a team building not falling with the Jose fear factor added even more

There should have been some half time team talks for the Bayern and Brighton games. Poch should have been in it more

Our record signing Ndombele doesnt say or do anything of note. Same with lo Celso

But its enjoyable

Don't get me wrong, I so wish we signed one of bruno or van de beek instead of both lo celso and ndombele. Poch seemed to like players who are nice and not much leadership ability on their own whereas both bruno and vdb allegedly more vocal and leaders on their own right .... We seemed to neglect this aspect from scouting a player during poch's reign ...

Yeah me too, would have been good. Probably not as good TV though, and if the club didn’t sanction it, they could have good reason. Might have been an utter train crash to watch.

I think it was hinted at slightly. Son said it couldn’t be explained looking into the camera, like they didn’t want the dirty laundry aired.

I wouldn’t be surprised with how much we know that levy and Poch got on, that if it did portray him badly, we wouldn’t of wanted that aired out of respect for him. I can see that being the case. The first episode puts his sacking down to results, rather than what we’ve told has happened behind the scenes. I think that’s rightly respectful for what did for the club. Don’t kick a man when he’s down.

Can anyone tell me what type of leader sissoko is? In documentary, jose was shocked to see sissoko's influence in dressing room, but is he as influential as kane is for us? Any idea?
Didn’t hear Sissoko speak much at all but they all sang his name after he scored so he could just be quite well liked and a quiet leader / popular dressing room figure.
