god forbid a gazillionaire moves in and decides to try and buy the best talent on the planet (ala Citeh) - do we really have to go through another 12 months of rebuilding??? where does that leave GDS, Jenas, Modric, Bentley etc etc.

A word of caution about being in Citys position right now - short term success vs a long stable steady improvement over the next 18 months - 2 years with the exciting young talent already at our disposal..

Good post. Chelsea with Abramavich's billions have discovered it takes more than just money and big name signings to consistently win things. Man City may get it right, but at the moment, I would take Levy's prudence and sound, sustainable business model over an Arab pissing contest every day of the week.

But Chelsea are still at the top of their game and challenging for the title. Theres no guarantee that City will suffer in the long run.

Maybe the Russians are coming afterall......to take over Spurs??

Real Madrid have thrown millions at the best players in the world building a team of "Galacticos".....they did not really "gel" together and that is the difference betwen potential and winning !!!

Why can't we have a fabulously rich Caribean based financial oligarch with a partner who is a lifelong Spurs fan who will bring in one of the top coaches around and build a better and better team wothout all the danger of court cases, or the KGB getting involved.
Sounds pretty good to me.

Can't the fans just take over? Maybe we can end our long persuit of a defensive midfielder together :)
