Fark. You led me down a path and then totes pulled the ground from under me.

Imma need a few minutes to deal with this emotional rollercoaster you sent me down.

Lloris

Walker - King - Vertonghen - Rose

Modric - Dembele

Bale - VdV - Son

Kane

Thought about changing dembele for Wanyama (in his first season), as we need a defensive mid, but couldnt leave Dembele out of that starting 11. King also has to have a mention, eventhough Toby has played a bigger part in recent results

I’d definitely have King in my team if the premier league era, but not my team of this decade as he sadly did tail off after the 09/10 season, only playing a further 27 league matches in total, most of which were in that final season when it had become clear the injuries had finally caught up with him. 100% in team of the premier league era, maybe even my all time Spurs team, but no, not if this decade. I think to include any player they’d need to have played at least one full season at a high level from 10/11 onwards (so, our first CL season onwards).

A:
Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Ekotto
Modric Dembele
Bale Dele Son
Kane

This isn’t even that hard tbh. The only possible argument is Eriksen for Rafa, but it’s not one I’d make. The rest all pick themselves.

The King selections are strange...

Creating a thread like this then picking exactly the team I would have picked somewhat takes the fun out of this...
A word on those left out

King - didn’t really play in the 2010s..
Dele/VDV - both great but you can’t leave out Eriksen, and I think Son is a better fit for the left wing role

That’s pretty much it, the rest picks itself. You could argue Dembele and Modric play the same role and you don’t have a true DM, but they’re both much too good to leave out

Yeah, it’s funny that the team basically pick itself. I did think if it was a one-off game, like a CL final, and I had a choice between prime Spurs Van Der Vaart and a prime Spurs Eriksen maybe I would go for the former.

You didn't say the BEST Spurs team of the decade... I present to you, the least useful bunch of miscreants we've somehow allowed onto a football pitch in the 2010s. Note that I have limited myself to those who actually played some significant time for us - I could make a whole other eleven of random kids who got a few minutes in the cup only to end up at Barnet or MyPA.

Cudicini
Hutton - Nelson - Fazio - Fryers
Bentley - O'Hara - Stambouli - Falque
N'Jie - Saha

Naughton - Chiriches - Pienaar - Capoue - N'Koudou - Dos Santos - Janssen
Witness the shitness! League One, here we come!

Harsh on some of those. They may not have been roaring successes, but at least half of those contributed plenty of good moments.
