I think this will be a game of two halves. Both teams will be looking to exploit weaknesses and maybe score. They both'll want to win this one, and I think we'll see that early on or maybe later or towards the end. In the end, the winner will be the team that wins, but a draw can happen since it's early in the seasons and the new signings must settle a bit.

It would be disappointing, we're better than them and are at home.

Disappointing yes but not the end of the world because like I said I think Everton are much stronger now, obviously on paper we should win but if for whatever reason we don’t I don’t think we should be too annoyed.

We're stronger though, I don't get why Everton have turned into world beaters all of a sudden lol.

Rodriguez has still talent but if he were that good he'd be elsewhere.
Look if it was at Goodison I'd agree but at home its vital we get off to a winning start.

Allan & Doucoure will make them much more physical & harder to break down, last season we be struggled to break them down & won through an own goal.

Also I’m not sure Home/Away even matters when there’s no fans in the stadium.

We should be winning these games I agree, it will just depend more on us to impose our game & take our chances.

It did seem to at the end of last season. I think if you looked at the points you'd find that teams gained more points at home than away on average.

Everton stank the place out last time we played them. They literally did fuck all most of the match. Was weird actually. Unless they've taken a dramatic improvement I think we'll win.

Yes and they offered nothing. The fact they might attack a touch more can only suit us.

All I'm saying is that people have tendency to over egg what the opposition are doing with signings and down play our own.

And I'd still rather play at home, crowd or not.

I just want a repeat of the Burnley game from last year. And yes, I just watched that episode on Prime.

Can't call this one at all.

Some of our key players having to play two internationals this week and not training with our squad doesn't fill me with confidence.

Everton's new midfield seems balanced but fingers crossed they won't have time to gel.

Imagine it will be a disjointed game.
This.
think it will be a tight game poss 1-1 or 2-1 us.
Really need to get off to a win here.

Sides winning the major trophies will, 9 time out of 10, be dispatching Everton at home without much bother

Everton fans should be very excited by their midfield signings. All three were linked at some point to better teams and if they're playing 4-2-3-1 then that is a perfect system for James, who is world class when you can get the best out of him and feels the backing of his manager

Excellent. Really looking forward to this season.

I think Hojberg and Doherty should add some much needed solidity. Bergwijn could prove to be a key player, and a regular contributor of goals/ assists. And if we can get Nbombele fit and interested, a midfield three of him, GLC and PEH is among the best in the league. Challenging for the for the title will be step too far but I think we’ll surprise folks.

I am hopeful for a clean sheet. The one thing I don’t want to see this season is individual mistakes costing us goals, as that alone will get us another 15+ points this season. If Kane is anywhere near as sharp as Son and Dele have looked then we’re good for a couple of goals, and a comfortable home win to kick the season off. COYS!

Hope we play with a similar verve to Leeds v Liverpool.

If we do & Jose removes the shackles, it should be a positive result.

We have to win today. Everton's new signings haven't had any real time to bed in yet and factor in an injury to Holgate who was their best defender this summer and their defence is nothing special.

Leeds had a free hit against Liverpool yesterday, whereas this is a game we're expected to win. Plus the manager's styles are completely different.

Add to that the fact that Leeds conceded 4 goals, and I think maybe we'll stick to our own game instead of taking inspiration from a club who have played 95 minutes of PL football since 2005.

Leeds won 3-2 on goals in open play.

You're missing the point.
Leeds played with confidence against the Prem Champs & took the game to them.
No fear.
We should do the same against an Everton side.
