Gone by xmas.

If i was a betting man.

Perhaps so but where next? Alas, wages reflect where a team ends up and really we're a 6/7th come May kinda team and it won't change.

We lucked out in the Poch era, a lorra luck

Just gotta accept results like today because we're nothing special anymore

But what did Kane do any better than the others? He can moan and have strops but he was walking around the pitch, making no challenges to get the ball and just generally looked half arsed.

Nothing but if I was him and I look around the dressing room I am not sure I would give a fuck either. Instead of building a team that can help him compete for trophies we have slide back to being no better than mid table.

Hilarious and equally terrifying that we are looking to bring in expensive forwards when we have midfilders like we do.
And backups like Ben Davis and dier starting

But this shit tactic of conceding possession and try to counter with an overload on the right isn't helping either

Spurs looked atrocious in the second half but that Everton midfield is going to be a problem for a lot of clubs this year. They did some good work during the window.

Piss poor football as soon as I seen the team at the start and winks was there I could only see it going one way and that was a defeat.
Mourinho supposed tactical ability is well gone the man is finished and his methods are abysmal as in use your right back to attack and create and get everyone else to defend. He is living on past glories and to be honest in the past he needs to stay. Pathetic and needs to go now not after the next game or 10 games into the season when have won a game but straight away and get someone in who knows what fuck they are doing.

The boys looked tired. For the coming EL game, I hope José starts with Bale, Reguillon, Vinícius and Kim to keep the squad fresh.

Sorry Jose has had best part of year now to work with this team and we still look completely incohesive! No idea/plan how to attack or break down teams! He has started to make poor and random substitutions! Worst of all players definitely aren't playing for him

Oh I don't think he's done a good job today/in general for sure. Really dislike the lopsided formation, think our recruitment has become so obsessed with personality that we've forgotten about actual quality, and bring Sissoko on was a shocking decision.

I just think that no matter who the manager is we'd still be quite shit. Our squad just isn't very good, that's the reality.

I hope this performance means that we will be more ruthless in culling some players.

We absolutely have to sell some players to get some fresher more athletic people through the door.
who would want to buy any of them based on a performance like that

It's way, way more the performance than result that concerns me now.

Doesn't help that its insanely boring to watch as well.

We have literally played the same in every game under Jose, even the pre season game against championship Watford. Only difference is we usually have been able to make one of those counter attacks count. But we need a better plan A. We won't do anything playing like that all season.

Well done @Ordman for going back to 'wtf' a post of mine made at HT. How very brave of you.

Obviously the second half was a disgrace but that doesn't change what we saw at HT.

Everton midfield signings could all probably walk into our team. Jose has his favourites and like his players to work hard but unfortunately you need to have some quality at the same time. Our hard workers simply don't have it in them. Jose loses his first day record and get's a reality check.

Makes perfect sense to see why we would be interested in a LB. Our Lb hasn't contributed to any goals in the last 2 seasons, he struggled badly against an unfit James who isn't even quick!

Jose either have to shoe horn the actual ball players we have in the squad (Stevie, Tanguy, Lo Celso etc) or just accept that this team is not the required quality of where we want to be. I wouldn't want to be Kane playing in a team like this. I find it comical that people wouldn't want Bale! Even an uninterested Bale would give us more than any other attacker we have in our squad bar Harry and Son.

Tanguy Ndombele. Misplaced a few passes and was playing (instructed to?) too deep. But he brought energy and was at least looking for, and able, to play a forward pass.
Has. To. Play.
Oh come on, he probably only did two good passes straight after coming on, and he was already losing his balance after that fluffing some passes. He doesn't even run much and he brought energy? Never ceased to amaze at the privilege and priority support he has here.

Never ever been more embarrassed to be a spurs fan. For the first time in my life I had to stop watching that shit and walk away. No excuses and for those saying it will make a difference no signings will change this.
This is a club that was ready to touch the heights, but had the rug pulled from under its feet by the woeful decision not to invest across two windows was shocking.

Agree. Poch had mentally checked out after he didn't land the Man Utd job, but even through that final year we still showed glimpses of proper attacking football.

I'm putting this on Mourinho. Not for the loss as any team can lose. But for how he approaches games and his failure to allow our best players to express themselves. This isn't knee jerk, barring the 5-0 against Burnley I can't recall a game with Jose where we've dominated the opposition.
It's TRUE what other fans say about us, our wingers are now full backs. They dont even try to go past players anymore.

Harry Kane will be comforting himself tonight, safe in the knowledge that he won’t have to start another season with us.

If he's going to amble about for 90 minutes like he's done with increasing frequency then perhaps it's best for both parties.

Defensive first the Mourinho way
See I didn't mind this first half because there was a clear pattern of play and a team that pretty much knew their roles.

Second half went to complete and utter shit the minute we made the change and in doing so, we ceded the game to Everton who didn't have to particularly work hard to secure their first away win at a top 6 side in 13 years!

It's one thing not reacting quickly enough to opposition changes but when we effectively committed tactical and personnel hari kari then we as a team and absolutely Mourinho deserves all the criticism they get!
