I do think Vic needs to be smarter. Fact is he isn’t going to get protection so he needs to get away from the blocker

I think it was Paul Robinson said after or during the Everton game to get one of our players in front of vic and between the opposition player then he can shove our player which moves the opposition player out of the way without it being a foul

There is no way Oliver didn't spot the nut kick, he just decided not to call it. Which is way worse.
Like I said.

They don't want to be seen as the one who influences the title by sending a player off so they back out of it.

Midtable clash and the decision will be made.

Absolutely no chance Maddison is fit.

He's had the athleticism of a 65 year old since coming back.

Lo Celso looks so sharp in comparison.

I agree, VAR was supposed to help referees but they are now just leaving it to VAR all the time now.

Probably need to go down the rugby route of a referee making a decision, then VAR is asked afterwards.

Needs to be way more open as well, why don't they play the audio on what is going on? It just leaves it open to being seen as subjective and secretive. It could be good, but has been poorly implemented.

FFS. We played some good football. But fucked up on their goals, and were really unlucky with cuti in the woodwork and Micky with VAR.

On my way back from the game and glad we didn’t totally fold when the third went in.

From their goals it felt like 3 goals out of 3 attacks and just so soft from us. I don’t mind us playing out from the back, it just doesn’t work when it’s slow almost reverting back to sideways and back from the previous managers we’ve had. Also you need someone who has that ability to play that killer ball out from the back to either wing like we did with Verts.

Felt if we had an extra few minutes we could’ve got it to 3-3, from where I was seated in the South stand Sarr, Biss and Richie most definitely upped the tempo. What a mountain to climb though.

Oliver was terrible today didn't get a grip of the time wasting, numerous water breaks, the usual Saka antics as well as some suspect decisions that broke the flow up.

For all the negativity going into this game the fans were great stuck to it on a whole.

I noticed on my way back towards Northumberland Park Station there were two Arsenal fans in a Land Rover (one out of the car, the other inside) with their shirts on filming all the Spurs fans walking along being quite provocative, wouldn’t be surprised if there was some trouble.

Back from the game, saved our respect second half, much better. Bad as the first half was it wasn't like we'd been outclassed and outplayed we were just poor in the final third and they done us at corners. The Saka goal he took well but we had two players down in their box I'd like a closer look at that and the offside fuck up is what will do for VAR, it can't go on like this.
Plaudits to Dejan Kulusevski today, he was everywhere involved in almost everything taking the ball off them and not letting them get it back off him, really impressed me today it's just a shame others weren't as strong.
Certainly not as gutted as I feared I would be at half time, much much better second half.

Just on way back from the game.

First half was sickening, from the horrendous set piece defending to the usual easy counter attack goal against us and mostly the Micky marginal disallowed goal which would’ve swung the momentum completely back in our favour. We had played ok with the ball but defensively it was appalling and we handed them an easy 0-3 lead and things were looking very very bleak.

I’ve been to many many NLD’s home and away but even when we were awful in the 90’s and part of 00’s I don’t recall many home NLD’s where we were so out of sight by half time, it was embarrassing, people behind me went home, we were tempted but held our nerve.

2nd half was brilliant, we dominated, we pressed, we threatened, we moved then from side to side and Sonny and Johnson were getting down their sides well, Richy’s energy was a game changer, we got it back to 1-3 and then at 2-3 a famous comeback was on and in the final minutes with those corners we had hope.

Overall we actually played a fair bit better than they did, they had 3 shots 3 goals and they paid the ref and paid VAR.

That game kind of summed up where we are at with Ange overall for me.

1) We HAVE to improve our defending, especially set pieces but also transitions, Ange can says it’s mostly focus but some of it is clearly tactical as well
2) We HAVE to improve the squad this summer in the following areas : ST, WF, CM, CDM, 4th CB and ideally improve our back-up RB & LB’s
3) We have some real positives, when we string the patterns of play together with confidence we cause teams real problems, but if we want to improve and find that consistency then points 1&2 need to be addressed.

I said a few games ago 4th is gone with our run-in of games, let’s hope we finish the rest of the season strong apart from the City game as we now need them to win all their games to stop Arsenal winning the league.

Watch the 2nd again, White gives Vic a shove to put him on his back foot as the corner is taken, I'm not sure you can blame Vic for that, his momentum is now off and he can't come for the ball, I think that's exactly the same "tactic" that City used in the FA cup. Question should be asked if that should be a foul?
It's absolutely crystal clear. He barges into Vic as the corner is being struck, before he could remotely claim that he was going for the ball, with the simple intention of putting him off balance / a yard back. It's a foul all day long and it would have been given if it wasn't the keeper and probably also if other teams hadn't tried similar but less forceful 'tactics' previously

Yeah, but what is a deliberate action? Ian Wright talked about it at half time, he didn't stick his leg out, bit did deliberately try to block but using his knees, and succeeded.

Should never been called off.

Well, that at least answers the question of who is Spurs biggest enemy, Arsenal or Chelsea?

The answer is… Spurs.

I think it needs to be a deliberate action, whatever the fuck that means
Ian Wright was spot on during the brake. The defender has not the time to stick his leg out, but deliberately tries to block with his knees, and is successful.
That's enough to let the goal stand.

I'm all in on Ange. And that probably means conceding goals on the break. BUT set pieces is a non-negotiable. We've seen with Gianni Vio and training, that can be trained. Thats one of Arteta's positives.

If it is Jedinak on set piece duties, he needs to be gone.

No, he just needs to be taken off set pieces.

We huffed , we puffed, and did a lot of sideways passing and passing the buck with all the possession we had. We still lack initiative, penetration and creativity. We're not great at pressing. We're poor on 50/50s, transition and counterattacks and we're almost laughable on set pieces.

PEH seems to now be the answer at 6 which is concerning but understandable given that a lot of our player are perhaps 'dialing it in', playing injured or just off form. Arsenal didn't need to be at their best; they just had to turn up, match us physically and watch us make mistakes. I feel Arsenal could have gone up a gear or two had they needed to , but they didn't. We are what we are and there's a lot of work to be done.
