Read an interesting comment elsewhere that all the standing around for VAR on a cold night contributes to injuries such as VDV suffered.

The mentality I saw from the players today is light years away from what we were last season. Those that came on did very well and I would say that this is a result of Ange.
I feel a little confident that we can get back on track next game, even with key players out.
I hope so. On the other hand, it also can affect the team. I personally can't see how to win the games without our two 1st choice CBs. If we don't win against the Wolves, our level of confidence may drop down.

The other important factor is that Ange doesn't really need to go back and address too much about the game.

Maybe better application playing through a press, but that is his MO anyway so will get better naturally.

Just Romero and others needing to calm down.

If he had have decided to shut up shop, he then has to reinstill behaviours and patterns of play in players.

If anyone can remember, a few years back United started the season really strongly and were scoring a lot. Mourinho decided to go ultra-defensive against Liverpool and secured a boring 0-0 draw.

But he killed the mentality in the team as they lost to Huddersfield the following week and were realy ineffective in attack.

We will now approach the Wolves game in the same manner

With all that extra time we almost played ninety minutes with ten men or less.

Freak result, freak injuries and a lot to learn for a young team. Gutted but I think the team will rally, learn from it and come back stronger.

Best home fan performance in ages.
It was awesome to be part of.

there were a couple who dropped their heads and their shit at Dier when he came on but after he made that first clearance the whole south was just on board the whole way.

Dier Hojberg and Royal - absolute heroes. So proud of them all but particularly those three

Score 3 of the easiest goals he’s ever gonna score against 9 men. Gets MOM. Vic made some great saves and clearances that kept us in it. At the end they thought they won the league. Ange will have a word with the two red card boys but he should proud of the rest. Keep going as best we can and see what happens.

I hate how the media focus is on Goal Scoring as the only attribute for these kinds of awards.

People made this point at the start of the season when all the ET was confirmed. That might have been proof of it in action.

We also have to remember. This is the very beginning of the process.

Ange has only just started rebuilding and I think we are ahead of schedule.

If we had gained up a lead and lost it, we may have suffered a little bit as we clearly are not ready yet

Proud of the team tonight just a shame Romaro/Udogie cost us. Add in the injuries that could really hurt us. The real test of character is now away to Wolves which is likely to be a second string defence that can be got at. Suspensions and injuries couldn't have been much worse from this will need some more Ange magic from here as how he plays doesn't suit Dier that's for sure still got to believe COYS!
Wolves are quite toothless though, luckily

Due to how most of the game went I forgot how we played in the first quarter. We were terrifying. I couldn't believe how absolutely dangerous we were. A couple of passes and BAM! A goal or a big chance. It was incredible. There's so much to look forward to.

I actually don't fear us playing any side anymore. Especially after seeing how we fought in the latter half.
