Continue to imprint the system and get total buy in from the players. With 9 the result is pretty much decided no matter how you play, so get it drilled that this is how we’re gonna play no matter what. Angry with Cuti and Destiny, really sad about the injuries, but honestly I love this team even more than I did before. Short term pain, long term gain.

The elbow was adjudged (with VAR) not to have been intentional or significantly dangerous to warrant a red. Either way this is your talking point. My point is we needed to be smarter individually to even things up and tactically as a team. We made that way too easy for a team which is absolutely shite with players who are horrendously struggling for form. Rather than using some smarts to maybe grind out a draw.

Sure credit to the players for giving their everything and playing with such heart despite such an absurd high line even with 9 v 11 and some terribly slow players in the back. But I'd have no qualms celebrating a hard fought point by shutting them out at 1-1.

We'd all be laughing our arses off at Chelsea right now.
Sorry but I completely disagree. The way we played could easily have got us a point that we would have deserved. We arguably created more high quality chances than them when it was 9 vs 11. You can’t just assume if we play defensively that they don’t score for 35+ minutes.

Not so much the result that worries me.

It's the injuries to key players that could be lengthy.
Try to see the bigger picture.

We have built a nice points tally to still be in contention for top 4 even if we lose a couple.

We will get better. Next season will always be a better chance to go further as we do more rebuilding.

Can you say that about United?
Arsenal have had 4 years with Arteta and look like they are stalling.
Chelsea won today but that was hardly a coming of ages win, it proved nothing other than they had to play against 9 men before they could finish their dinner.

I've just been googling Ashley Philips. Wiki extract:

"Speaking in November 2021, then first team manager Tony Mowbray described Phillips as "phenomenal" and commented that as well as being 6 ft 4' tall Phillips had great ball-playing ability. Mowbray stated, "He's fast, mobile and can pass it really well. He can use both feet, he's composed ... if you were to create a defender in the mould of how you would want one, this kid has got every attribute."

Cometh the hour, cometh the kid.

Right. In the rear-view this one.

Still, does still slightly grate that when we made it a football game they found it difficult to live with us. Note going forward - stick to playing football instead of mentally imploding quite needlessly and we'll be reet.

ange has set me straight. I thought it was suicide having a high line with 9 men, but that’s who we are regardless of how many men we have on the pitch. Interesting times ahead.

These things happen. We are a young side and the derby got to some of them. Udogie will learn from it Romero I’m not so sure.
Things fell to pieces very quickly though we started making a bunch of mistakes, couldn’t play out from the back and were misplacing passes.
We are at the start of our project and we know our squad is no where near good enough.
VDV injury is worrying. Can’t be fatigue related after 10 days rest I hope he doesn’t continue to have hamstring problems.
I think well really struggle to win our next few games now our season has really come to a halt so quickly

We have to challenge the Red Card. I don't even think its a foul. Get got all of the ball and his follow through hit the defender coming in. I wouldn't be suprised if it get rescinded and Romero is good to go against wolves.
However, he was lucky to be on the pitch after lashing out with his leg.
But very proud of the boys - they kept going and never gave up.
I cannot see that card getting rescinded even if we did appeal.

If ever a score lied surely tonight was it. So proud of the lads. At points when we went 2-1 down youd think Chelsea were the team defending for their lives. Fuck chelsea and their billion pound team. And well done to anyone that was there. The crowd were amazing.
You will never see Stamford Bridge like that. Even if they are 4 up to win the title

Biggest worry is obviously Madds and Mickey. Romero needs a bollocking. Which im sure he will recieve. Udogie either learns from this or hes another liability. Tbf to him as soon as he made the foul he knew. Id class that as a life lesson. And it was a cheap one considering. We always lose to these ****s so onwards and upwards. And I thought Dier was great when he came on.

Chances are we’d lose so why not go down having a go and stay true to our beliefs
Further to this, I read something from a journo somewhere, saying that keeping the same mentality was important to keeping the players onside with his beliefs. Cited a game for Utd under Jose when they had a player sent off and despite scoring lots of goals prior, they sat off and went on a bad run because the mentality of the players changed to a defensive one and they couldn’t get out it it.

I think with those nine players and two more we'd have been closer to winning 4-1, we're still going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Liverpool lost the Curtis Jones appeal for his similar tackle on Biss, think Romero got more of the ball but it doesn't bode well for an appeal.

When you think we had Son’s disallowed with 11 on the pitch then went down to 9 and had Dier’s also disallowed along with the Son & Benty chances in the last ten minutes.
If we’d have had the rub if the green and won it I don’t think anyone would have not said we didn’t deserve to win.
