In summary we looked good going forward and should have scored three or four in total. Leeds looked dangerous going forward.

I'm not gonna pick out certain players for being shit but we aren't losing because of them in particular.

I think we will win this but will be high scoring

Conte has to take some of the blame for constantly starting royal, his miss when looking at an open goal, by nearly kicking it out of the stadium sums him up, nowhere near good enough. Dier not much better, a bumbling clumsy oaf of a defender, never winning anything with him being seen as the leader at the back, top that off with his distinctly lack lustre passing from a former midfielder.
Hoijberg poor in the middle again, Richy rolling around like a 12 yr old, too many of them look like they are minding themselves for a WC.

don't think lenglet is suitable for the middle for me. Likewise with dier on the right. There's a chronic lack of pace in that back 3 atm.
That being said.. going forward we look pretty good apart from you know who on the right...

I'm sure I've seen plenty say recently they'd rather us play better and still lose than be boring and win?

That was a much better first half compared to recent games let's be honest despite going in behind. Wouldn't be surprised if we turn this round.

The problem is this is on the back of horrific results / conceding goals.

I suspect the reaction to the first half is a feeling of it all being boiled up / compounded.

Indeed. As I keep saying though it's schoolboy defending with mistake after mistake. Once the confidence goes they are going to keep doing it. It's nothing new, has been happening for years.

Then those at the club need to fall on their sword for allowing such weak willed players to continue hanging around our club for so long.

For an apparently defensive side we sure are shit at defending. We’re honestly one of the worst drilled sides in defence in the top half. They might not be good enough individually but it’s pathetic how easily sides create clear cut chances against us.
It's quite ironic really where people talk about us being a defensive side yet completely shit at it.

He really wasn't that bad today. Dier, Hugo, Richarlison, perisic Davies were far worse.
Emerson is shit, consitantly shit. What is your defence for him? For me he was complicit in the first goal. Neither him nor Dier is consistantly good enough, Dier has fallen off a cliff from being about reliable.

The worst thing is that Leeds are there to be absolutely ruined once you get the ball past their initial press and over the halfway line. We've had tens of good attacking chances where they're torn wide open, and haven't done anything with them.

Going the other way it's more of the same. Collective isn't functioning, isn't organised, isn't working hard enough, has become far too loose and open, and individuals are making errors, and we've conceded two very soft goals.

If we were anywhere near firing on all cylinders this would be a cricket score, you'd see off their initial bluster/press and tear them to pieces. Instead we're in a right old struggle. It's entirely possible we can turn this around second half, but we need this World Cup break badly. Performance wise the team is in such a bad place currently.
Yeah, that's how I feel.

You can't build a winning team on these foundations.

If we had them, we'd either be winning comfortably, or a little frustrated that we hadn't scored in the first half.

But what's clear is we have to work twice as hard for a win because some of these players can't defend as a unit or individually.

Our fans are a discrace, the place is toxic. It hasn't even been that bad if not for Emerson and Dier.

Sat in the stadium I’ve thought we’ve looked ok going forward. Challenge is when they attack we look like we shit ourselves.

There is also a glaringly obvious gap between our forwards and midfield we need to address. As Leeds walk through it constantly.

We are looking at a third home defeat in a row after something like 8 wins on the bounce. The fans have to take some responsibility for that if they are booing at half time every time the side are behind.

we can talk about poor defending and rubbish play but our team is trying to win, which is more than what can be said for some entitled fans.

The fans apart from the booing have done their part. Atmosphere better than normal all things considered

I'm not a fan of booing. But people pay their money and blah blah blah.

But what I think is unacceptable is hurling that kind of personal abuse at your own player when we're defending a corner. If you want to blame anyone for conceding the goal blame the "supporter" with the big mouth behind the goal yelling " you're shit, you're fucking shit"

Been out, just seen 1-2 down, I expected there to be goals and it to be difficult but hoped we’d win, obviously another 45 to go but being down at HT again isn’t ideal.

How have we played first 45?
