Legally, Levy would lawyer up and there's not a hope in hell it'd wash.

A replay is ridiculous but if we even entertain it for a second it would have to start on the 33rd minute when they scored and they'd have to play with ten men.

That would be the only fair starting point. So Diaz has scored to make it 1-0 and they're playing with ten. Play on.

I wouldn't care, just to shut them fucking up....we'd be so up for it

But it's never happening.
Although replaying it, coming from 1-0 down to beat them 4-1 and then pipping them to the title by +1 on goal difference would be the most beautiful way to shaft the complaining tossers.

Shall we follow it up with the Son goal which wasn’t offside against them from a few seasons back? That was essentially the same error. Correct me if I’m wrong.

It just stupid, you would have replays of most games with questionable officiating…this will open a can of worms that would in fact destroy the League…..just cause diddums got the rough end of the stick this once.

Hope they lose the league by 2 points this year.

Can't believe people are even for one second mentioning the possibility of a replay, totally baffling.

Just pie in the sky stuff from their fans which they hope gains momentum but everyone will have moved on by next week.. If you are after a replay after losing a game, probably the one bloke in world football you don't want to be up against is Levy. Although you never know, Levy could see it as another home game to push the revenue numbers up ;)

Brentford not getting a penalty today after that obvious foul by Turner was a bigger mistake than the offside yesterday. It’s a pen every day of the week.

Anyway, yeah I agree it’s the club perpetuating their victim mentality that plays so well with their fans.

If it was us reacting like this over a bad decision we would be called a small club

Wouldn’t surprise me if they were trying to make out they’d been bribed by certain football club owning elements of the Emirati.
I mean, said football club has 115 charges against them right now. And also happened to benefit from another major, objectively wrong VAR call last season when Brentford were given a clearly offside equaliser at Arsenal.

Don't get me wrong, in all likelihood it's just a coincidence. But nation states should not be allowed to own football clubs, and when they do they certainly shouldn't be allowed to then literally pay the refs. That's a blatant conflict of interest and I assume that's the point Liverpool will be making.

Obviously the banter outcome is that City were cheating, but actually lose the league not to Liverpool but to us by a single point...

Also I believe clubs voted against the introduction of semi automated offside decisions. Not sure if Liverpool were for it or not, but maybe it's something they'll push for after this.

I agree. Countries should not be allowed to own clubs and if you’re an official in the premier league, then it should be English games or uefa games and that’s it.

Maybe we should agree to replay the game.

As long as they agree to replay the CL final.
I'd actually like to replay the game at Upton Park when most of the squad had stomach flu, and reset the champions league English places once we win it. Oh and Newcastle and City shouldn't be in it because they weren't that year.

To whom should I write?

Apropos the actual bloody match. I didn’t see it yesterday so watched it back today. From the prevailing narrative I was expecting Liverpool to be dominant for at least the 11v 11 part. But they really were not: if anything we edged it, though the main impression was of a cracking game between two good teams. We created the Richie to Kulu chance at the back post, and they forced the double save from Vicario. Then of course they had a player unjustly dismissed by secret agents working for the UAE and the rest is history…..

Join the queue mate. On behalf of my great great grandfather, I have asked for the 1879 match between The Royal Engineers and Clapton Casuals to be replayed using descendants of the original players. The original match was ruined when a Clapton equalizer was ruled out for offside a full four years before the offside rule was invented.

Reading that statement again and the final paragraph doesn’t really ring true with the rest of the statement. It feels like it’s added on for their fans. They are just basically saying they want the PGMOL review to be transparent and open.

But really there is zero reason for them to say anything. I actually think it will do them more harm than good. Howard Webb doesn’t come across as the kind of person who would appreciate being threatened in the manner the statement portrays.

I can help Liverpool in their ‘exploration of all options’:

Option A: Liverpool can accept they had a big bit of bad luck, and move on in the hope that the next fuck up works in their favour (eg behave like a bunch of adults); or

Option B: Liverpool can not accept it but the rest of the world will move on (will probably take about a week) and they’ll probably still benefit from the next fuck up because of the law of averages (and there do seem to be a lot of fuck ups lately).

In both scenarios they get 0 points now and both Jones and Jota still get their suspensions because - and I cannot say this enough - the officials got the sendings off right.
