With the players available I don’t think there is much choice than playing (or at least starting with) a 343 at the moment.

Wouldn't be opposed to this but I would like to see a change in personnel and approach if he decides to use 3ATB. Have Danjuma and Richy hound and press the united defense and let them be an overall nuisance.

Forster
Romero - Dier - Lenglet
Porro - Skipp - Sarr - Davies
Kane
Danjuma - Richarlison

We obviously cannot play 4 at the back with the Centre backs we have at the club so back to the back 5 with Davies returning at LWB to try make us a bit more solid.

Kinda expecting a bit of a damage limitation exercise, possibly even more negative than usual, we might lose, but we must not lose by 5 or 6!

Happy to be proved wrong of course and hope we come straight out of the blocks swinging

3-5-1-1 with Richarlison up top and Kane just behind him given the lack of creativity that Sarr, Skipp and Pierre provide

4 at the back is clearly not an option at this point in time

Forster

Romero Sanchez Lenglet

Porro Skipp Sarr Perisic

Deki

Kane Son

Is how I’d like to see us line up. Sanchez showed more guts and character than in his cameo than Dier has shown all season. I’ve had enough of Hojberg waving his arms around like an inflatable outside a car dealership. Play Deki as a ‘10’ so he can drop in and help win the midfield numbers game and he has been really poor as a winger recently. Son and Kane as a central duo, get Son on the last man in behind where he is at his best

Shall we just copy and paste the Newcastle thread into this, lock it now, and save ourselves all the hassle?

Yeah, a variation of 352 - with the shackles off - might be the best fit at the moment, with the players we have at our disposal.

As if that's what's holding us back. If only, our squad have completely forgotten how to play actual football, let alone play with freedom and creativity. You cannot play that way without confidence, and we are in the negative numbers when it comes to that with our squad.

He doesn’t have long to prep us does he.

money is on 3-4-3 safe choice after the 4atb issues vs Newcastle but hopefully a much more aggressive style of play and keep much more of the ball.

3-5-2 could also be an interesting option, Richy and Kane up top Kulu or Danjuma behind, extra body in midfield.

If wants to risk 4atb then Tanganga RB and Davies LB and 4-2-3-1.
