If we can't beat Palace this afternoon we should be ashamed of ourselves.
They beat Wolves and United, and drew away at City. They haven't been good this season but on their day, like every PL side, they can give anyone a game. And we've had more off days than on recently.

It reminds me of “Coco” for Lamela, and “Cuti” for Romero. Lolo, Coco and Cuti.
Funny that since they all come from a culture where nicknames are a big thing...

(although admittedly the commentators here in Argentina use Lolo a lot less than Cuti.)

Yeah but the pressure is on, we need a win. Back to back losses against Wolves and Palace at home would be pretty grim given that we have decent availability now.

Can't understand sarr not starting been out most consistent midfielder. Hope Madison finds his form again today so much better with him on fire.

I agree. I just don't think we should be ashamed if we don't win.

Presumably it's been clicking in training or otherwise Sarr would surely be playing.
That's what I thought. Two weeks training with both Biss and Bentancur improving fitness etc., and we have Sarr's rotation option if needed.

This is the first time we’re fully stocked in midfield and the first time we’re playing that particular combination of Biss, Bentancur and Maddison. Potentially quite telling as Ange seems to have a clear idea of what his best XI looks like. Good opportunity to test them playing at home in a fixture where we’ll see a lot of the ball, and following 2 weeks solid on the training ground.

When they’re all flying that would be a sight to behold but it could be quite underwhelming (or even frustrating) on current form. Quality options off the bench though with Sarr, PEH and GLC who can come on and change the game any which way between them.

Goalkeeping coach all over the keepers in warmups. Clearly been worked on.

Yeah, but the funny thing in this case is how cutesy their nicknames sound, at least to Western European ears! Lolo, Coco and Cuti sound like they could be female cartoon characters.

Yeah Sarr has been immense. If Bissouma finds his early season form and Bentancur is more like his old self, then this could be a very very good midfield. Just had a lot of players slightly off form coming back from injuries and makes us a lot less effective.

Looking at Palaces formation, could be a little crammed in the middle. Really need Werner and Kulusevski to be utilised out wide.

I'm still waiting for that buzz of anticipating watching us play to come back. It's been absent since the BC times (Before Chelsea).

Plenty of midfield players end up at full back. Trent started in midfield. Archie Gray if Leeds, very good midfielder, starred for England under 21 at last years under 21 euros, currently playing left back for Leeds.
I suggested it because Emerson is not very good at controlling a ball and passing. Crossing….forget it.
Emerson agile…really. Looks really awkward when closed down. I know he does his best etc etc but he is not really up to playing full back in our system. Probably best on the right of a back 3.
And you think Skipp has those qualities?

Because our full backs are number 10s. They’re key parts of the attack and the system falls apart if they can’t attack.

I’d put Deki there.
It's a totally different role starting from full back and pressing forward in attack than starting midfield
