Our back four is abysmal. All of them so uncomfortable on the ball. That’s where are problems are stemming from today imo. Dele has been awful too.

It's very grey and grim looking. But hey that's just the football. It's also pissing down.

2 players are giving me hope

Son to produce some magic and Lo Celso to play a killer pass

Starting to notice a pattern in the way the team have approached CL games vs the way they approach Prem games, too many times they’ve looked like completely different people from midweek to weekend

That may be so, but what's the excuse going forward then?

Our preparation going into games and how we conduct ourselves pre match leaves a lot to desired - this is more than a trend, it's endemic with this squad and management.

Attack and defensive aren't exclusive. Our best playmakers were our centre backs who could spray the ball wherever they wanted with ease.

And how in earth do you know that our preparation leaves a lot to be desired? You on the training pitch on weekdays?

Alli is doing nothing, and continuing to try and play through the middle is a waste of time with sheffield packing the centre. The best attacking moments we've had have been with son in wide areas. Get on another wide player, whether you want it to be sessegnon or Moura doesn't really matter.
I think Alli is having a decent game, one or two stray passes aside. He's trying to get past players which is a sign of the mojo coming back. He's tracking back and doing the dirty work too. Nothing outstanding but OK nonetheless.

I don't know what any of the moaners were expecting. This is Sheffield United, masters of denying space and holding tight. We have never been good against these teams at our very best, let alone in a period where we're struggling for form.

I'm a bit disappointed we haven't been a bit better at breaking them down, but not surprised.

Awful half, Dier is one foul away from us being down to ten men so I think needs to be subbed. Dele’s been woeful, I’d drag him off for either Winks (to give us more of a foothold) or Sess (to pose a greater threat down the left).

What Poch will do is probably, well, nothing, and we’ll continue to be shit until the hour mark where Dier picks up another booking. I don’t understand how we’re so incredibly shit in the league when we see what this team is capable of in Europe.

well because we can’t play Red Star every week. Remember the Bayern game or the Olympiakos?

League table don't lie (unless it comes to us and our own but that's something else ... )

Don't think we've been anything like as bad as people are melting down about.

Sheffield United have been excellent and deserve a lot of credit.

Just enjoying a good, close match personally. Hope we edge it.

I haven’t read any of the match thread, but I don’t think we’re playing too badly. Just not quite syncing up entirely.
Sheffield are all hustle and bustle, but I still think we’ll have the quality to overcome it.
I’m not shitting the bed just yet. ??

we made sheiffield look like Barcelona
They’re a very well coached side. Don’t think they’ve conceded more than 2 goals in any game all season and have one of the best defensive records, are 6th and haven’t lost away from home all year as far as I’m aware.

let’s see if they can keep up this pressing and intensity. We need to get more bodies around Kane as he’s 1 vs 3 against their back 3 and/or hit them on the break as they push a lot of men forwards.

COYS.

Look at how we've started games over large sample pool - there's clearly an issue in our preparation and application in the first half!
