Well that was more tense than I wanted. I think Sheff Utd almost played us perfectly as boring as it was. It doesn't take too much to wind up our fans. We need to do better as a fan base in situations like this. Hopefully the more we play this way the more patient and positive the fans will get. Otherwise we lose home advantage and cause more problems for ourselves. Its amazing when the fans are happy. The ground was absolutely bouncing at the end. When it's like that it's well worth the cost of the ticket.

Maybe we needed this type of game though. It feels like a real turning point after the last few years. Our subs made all the difference and we showed no quit. We need to use this as an example to stay positive and get behind the team. They will get there with our support. Teams will come to frustrate us but we need to turn this stadium into a buoyant place. Teams need to fear us rather than come and wind us up.

I'm annoyed they have stopped doing dugout cam this season, this would've been an amazing one to watch.

I hope Ange comes out and says something about the ref. Now we r win it won’t just come across as sore losers. Not enough to get him banned but a little quip like he’d be interested in reading the ref report as he doesn’t gave a clue what was happening. There were so many bad calls and just weird decisions. The ref shrugging his shoulders at the bench when we were trying to make a sub just summed it all up.

Well that was an eventful game!
A few points:
First, hats off to Sheffield United. A brilliant, but not exclusively, defense display until tired legs led to sloppy mistakes in added on time. Robinson especially was excellent. It is also worth noting that it demonstrates that wasting time during the match can be counterproductive if the referee adds on the wasted time at the end when the team is tiring.
As I said earlier todays performance was typical of the sort of performances you see right after the international break. Too many players not 100% on song.
I think 15 yellow cards and 1 red card in a game with no bad tackles or bad blood between the teams demonstrates how extremely poor the refereeing was. He never really had command of the game especially in the second half. Although he, rightly, added 12 minutes on at the end he could and should have cracked down on it early in the first half as it was disrupting the flow of the game. Not giving the penalty for a clear foul on Madison could have been the turning point in the game had we lost because if given Basham could easily received a second yellow card on top of us potentially going ahead early in the game.
Thats straw clutching at its best mate
There were no straws in my vicinity 😅

Sheffield fans have only themselves to blame

Fodringham had his physio & doctor appointment in pitch for 5 minutes, acted like he wants to be subbed for 4 minutes, took shit on pitch while reading news paper for 5 minutes, then washed and was stumbling to put his gloves on for another 3 minutes...Should have been another 5 minutes of injury time, if anything
