Haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere but was very noticeable in the stadium and on clips just how many stayed for the whole game.

Shouldn’t be something noticeable but how many times over the last few years have we been losing after 90+ mins and yet the stadium is still packed out.

Used to get waves of people leaving on 82mins but even after the final whistle the stands were still packed out even though we were losing going into extra time.
My mate went to the bar at 89 muttering something about a honeymoon being over , I stayed i my seat 😂

Is having part of your foot over the touchline actually a foul throw , the law on the FA's own website is not very clear , just says feet must be on touchline or behind touchline , when the Utd player took the throw that led to the goal one foot was on the touchline the other well behind it

1. Procedure

At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower must:

  • stand facing the field of play
  • have part of each foot on the touchline or on the ground outside the touchline
  • throw the ball with both hands from behind and over the head from the point where it left the field of play

The MASSIVE error was the 3 minutes given at the end of the 1st half. It made such a mockery of the league so called "clamp down" on time wasting. The fucking keeper was on the deck for more than 3 minutes alone.

That's where the ref lost all control. Everyone in the crowd and on the pitch knew he was unfit to referee. Made for a febrile atmosphere
Not sure why the first half is treated differently. They don't add as much time unless there's a serious delay. If the refs are more consistent with it then time wasting will be a thing of the past. Then it will just be a matter of teams breaking up momentum and frustrating teams. However there will be no advantage to spending so long resuming play. Teams will need to factor in the added time they will create and be prepared to play 100+ minutes. They need to have the fitness for that and newly promoted teams struggle a lot of the time. The difference in fitness between this league and Championship is huge. So do you keep breaking up play and be prepared to play over 100 minutes or slow it down less. Its like the difference between MMA and Boxing. 3 or 5 5 min rounds or 12 3 minute rounds with more stop and start.

I think as a fanbase we will need to adapt too. Stop getting so frustrated by it because we will know the time is not being wasted. It's just being delayed. So do we call it time delaying or something? If you know it will be added on then we can hopefully start to be more patient. Otherwise it plays into their hands when teams do it. Even if the fans are booing the opposition or ref it is still negative and feeds onto the pitch and our players. I felt our players were making mistakes and trying to force things because they felt the tension of the crowd 2nd half.

Exactly how he took it.

Correct , not sure why some claiming it to be a foul throw.
Also the ref was right when the second ball came onto pitch when I think it was Deki had the ball inside the box , play has to stop and restart with a dropped ball for the goalie even though the attacking team were in possession when play stopped.

I don’t think people know the rules or at least can’t keep track of the changes. I’ve only come to terms with the goalie not being allowed to pick up a backpass. and don’t get me started on short goalkicks without coming out of the 18yd box!!

Well the ref actually gave the drop ball to us the first time it happened. The same situation and 2 different decisions so 1 of them was wrong.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a drop ball contested. Is it because of Charlie Adam’s?

That's because we had possession outside of the penalty area the first time, so we get the drop ball being the team in possession but the second time it happened when we had possession inside the box so the drop ball goes to the goalkeeper, think it all changed beginning of last season.

It was a rule change same time as when the rule on the ball hitting the ref came in and the goalie getting the drop as happened yesterday, no more contested drop balls , as usual most players don't know the rule.
