I see more going forward from us in these games than under Mourinho towards the end of his reign when we kept losing leads.

Definitely. First half it felt a bit strange us popping the ball about calmly. We are miles different from under Mourinho. Chalk and cheese already.

A zippy but old school performance. He had a handle on everything they did and had that big strapping lad in his pocket. I'm sure Nuno was taking notes

Liking these Zippy Sanchez performances compared to his Bungle ones last year!

It's a shame there isn't a "despise" button.

Yeah shame except I supported him throughout his whole spurs stint and was happy to give him a little clap today.

Standing ovation for an oppo player yet quiet for our own. Odd bunch we have at spurs now.

Steady performance all round tbh. A bit like a fortnight ago, we left ourselves open too much in the first half. But once we got our measure we were in control.

Our front 3 approach looks so dangerous in build up. Once the quality clicks on that final ball/shot, the goals are going to flow.

So far, so Nuno

True. At least there is a sense of improvement to come in this current squad.
That's exactly my point. While not winning 3 or 4-0, I can see the difference from last season and the improvements. I can see a plan and I can see how much more confident we are when defending.

There is an immense amount of positivity in this team now, that simply hasn't been there since a certain night in Madrid.

Thought lucas offered much more than bergwijn. Its that 3rd forward to play with kane and Son if we get right would be amazing

And we lack a traditional number 10. Apart from that we are good

Right back cover also important. So 3 players for me RB, AM, RF

On my way home from the game (fuck it feels good to just be on my way home from a game after the last 18 months!) so haven’t kept touch with the mood in here but thought Davinson Sanchez was motm. Dier did well too but Sanchez was increasingly dominant as the game went on, and contributed on the ball too with some of those long passes out wide to Bergwijn/Son on the left.

Impressed with how we managed and controlled the last 30 mins. Was impressed with Watford in the first half but in that last half hour it felt like we kept them at arms length and deserved a 2nd goal.

I’m happy.

I'm torn.

Plenty of positives..

Top of the league!
Three clean sheets!
Sanchez
Skipp
Kane back.

But the midfield and right back position really concern me.

If were going to have a Liverpool style workman like midfield then we need two fullbacks bombing on. That's clearly not Tangangas game and going forward he struggles so unless we can get aurier to change his mind then the alternative is not acceptable.

That leaves the three in midfield and I think the balance looks off. None are particularly creative, of the three if anything holjberg is making more runs than Dele.

Right now it has that feeling it gave last season where we were top but is it sustainable.

Of course nuno could alter it by using gil, lo celso or n'dombele but I think he want a more combative trio and it's why I feel an attacker who can make things happen and an attacking right back are must buys tomorrow.

Yep I think if we give Nuno time we could be on to something here. The squad seem to be getting behind him (and winning three out of three with none conceded will help). I said it after City but I am getting Poch vibes from Nuno and the squad.

His cheeky back heel could have been goal of the season!

Excellent result today and not a bad performance. Considering we've yet to start a new signing and, other than Skipp, we're starting the same players as last year, I can't understand any grumbling. It's a new system, new manager, and loads of upheaval during the off-season. To add to that, if you're watching the Wolves / Man Utd game, it'll give some context to our performance against them, i.e. we were a lot better than this Utd team.
