Back from the game and naturally chuffed as nuts.
I think Watford started well, the wide attackers were causing us problems down the flanks lots of one twos that we struggled with but as time went by we got on top of that and by mid way through the first half the goal was coming, certainly we were putting so much pressure on them we were camped outside their box for long periods.
Still not sure how we didn't score more but you perhaps have to put that down to Watford defending although it was also a bit of a change for us, for the past 18 months when we went one up we went back, defended deep and tried to protect the lead hoping for a chance to hit on the break but today we were constantly trying to break them down and finish them off.
Sanchez looks a different player looks happy to have the ball and even played a few sweet long passes as well as having an authoritive attitude across the defence.
Lots to like and still more to come I think.
As for Watford, I don't think they'll be anybody's mugs, they'll make a real fight of it this season.

We controlled the game pretty much all the way. Unlucky Dele or Harry didnt score on their big chances.
But all in all its fantastic.
3 games, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets, top of the league.

I really like the way we didnt lose our heads in the last 10-15 minutes. I can vividly remember us losing pur heads in the last 10 minutes of games we should win.

There must be a really good atmosphere in the squad after these results. Hope Paratici can do some magic in the last days of the window.
So much to build on.

Are any defenders out there really good enough to invite pressure and last ditch defend for 70-80 minutes a game without making at least one error?

It must be as mentally draining as much as physical.

No defenders can handle it. It's about the attack and midfield pressing enough to force more "loose" balls forward which increases chances of defence containing/winning. When the opposition has time to pick out passes they will get behind and create chances. This for me was a huge issue under Jose. Right now under Nuno as it's early days I'll assume that this phase 1 of the rebuilding with focus on being hard to breakdown but press the ball. I think Skipp is too deep too early and probably needs to step up 5yds-10 yds higher and back himself to get back.

However, I do hope we do try to control the ball more as we continue to develop under Nuno

Not sure if you went to the right football ground then... We're actually playing pretty well, and there was plenty of noise for a Sunday afternoon match against a relegation candidate. I didn't lose my voice like the City game, but there were sufficient renditions of the usual songs.
Yep I did and if you thought that was a great atmosphere good for you, it was poor and disappointing. Hopefully it improves as a rocking stadium is a great asset.

That comes with good physical fitness.

It was a Premier League game. None are going to be a cakewalk.

Therefore, top of the table on 9 points unbeaten, when we know there’s more to come from the team and from coaching etc is nothing to be sniffed at.

I believe we could have been more clinical with some of our chances, and on another day a couple of others would have found the net.

Not a great deal to moan about, IMO.

There isn’t really much else to say.

I don’t think Lloris has had a great deal to do in the last 270 mins of football. That can only be a positive.

Like the Man City game?

You're never going to get that every game, not least on a Sunday afternoon against Watford. Today was fine.

We're Spurs; We don't do Ultra's, we don't have a provincial fanbase, and we don't have the looney hooligan element like a Leeds or Newcastle.

But when it matters, we create an atmosphere like no other.

I think the team lacks a controlling force in midfield

Even though we haven't banging the goals, these 1 nil wins will breed confidence for the players in defence and give them something to build on.

Man alive, you can have a great atmosphere and get properly behind the team without any of that s***.

I think front 3 looked more tame with Kane in it. I liked the 3 pacy players up top.
I feel the same. It feels as though Kane is being accommodated . I want to see him stay centre and demand service . It should improve with time.

Re the atmosphere , it was no where near rocking like it was against City , atmosphere seems to depend on opposition , when we play a team we expect to beat it's never the same as playing one of the so called big teams.
It's the same elswhere, at Anfield , 2019/20 season I think it was against Watford , Klopp had to start urging the crowd to make some noise as they struggled to break down Watford

It was the same as it was at the old place. That was always quiet in games like today. I didn’t think it was too bad today. There wasn’t really a time the team needed cheering on from a gameplay perspective. Only halfway through the second half when we woke up and looked like we were trying to score. Then it was a bit better.

Hojbjerg awesome, hope we continue to see him in a more proactive role against weaker teams.

Honestly, if it was an early round cup tie against a small/unknown club, you could hear a pin drop.

Because it was poor, and it should matter every game, if we want to achieve anything.
It wasn't poor, it wasn't rocking but it wasn't poor, it was 1-0 for most of the game and people are still nervous about that situation, perhaps a bit tense but we still had a few rounds to raise the roof if not a constant noise.
