We're not sticking XI behind the ball intentionally. They just overran us in midfield, stopped the ball to Kane and kept possession. I highly doubt that's what Conte wants us to do, even if counters are a strength with the pace we have.I mean, yeah, but we do stick 11 men behind the ball when the opposition has possession in our half. That's not to say that the team doesn't deserve credit but It would be particularly concerning if we were adopting such negative tactics and still conceding lots of chances.
I would like to see Richy in place of Son V Forest. A little rotation wouldn't hurt.Son seemed so off it yesterday.
I never thought I’d say this but has richarlison actually got a chance to break in?
It's funny to me how when we're poor it's never because of the other team who stifled and stopped us from playing, yet we make others look bad.
It was down to Wolves and our own lack of intensity. Once we upped it and made some changes it looked much better.
I don't see us as boring, as when we get going the fast incisive passing is a joy to watch to me.
We have scored 7 in 3 games. We were not off it v Southampton. Far from it. So I don't agree when people include that game. We went behind sure, but I genuinely felt that was against the run of play and we still controlled it.
Spence not in the matchday squad again. I honestly thought he would come in and have a similar impact to Kyle Walker. AC must think he has a fair bit of development ahead of him.
I don't think it's his intention either (Mourinho used to claim the same thing) but along with the issues you cited, it's not happening by chance and appears to be a by-product of the tactics and formation being used. We're getting overrun because we're outnumbered and playing three CBs against teams without a proper CF. The press is passive at best and so the team shifts far back to compensate which makes it difficult for the opposition to open us up but also for us to launch meaningful attacks. We're not sticking XI behind the ball intentionally. They just overran us in midfield, stopped the ball to Kane and kept possession. I highly doubt that's what Conte wants us to do, even if counters are a strength with the pace we have.
