Boring weekend with Tottenham not playing. Who does everyone think will make up our 25 man squad? Not sure how different it will be depending on whether we get Champions League or not.

I don't see us going back for Moutinho, it was a deal to be done at the time, but I don't see Levy spending money on a man that is only getting closer to 30.

You have got 5 centre halves in, AVB has already said he intends to go with only 4 next year. Danny Rose will not be here, same goes for Michu.

Okay, I'll take a hack at this...

I'm going to say that we clinch a Champions League spot and we elect to keep Bale and everyone is happy on that front.

I'll guess that we have about 20m available at this time in transfer funds (Pointing the supposed Damiao deal).

Step 1: Player outgoings...

- We've done well already getting rid of Jenas, Cudicini, Bentley and Gomes possibly all of which will be gone for good. That's a substantial chunk off the wage bill as it stands.

- Sell Huddlestone for 4-5m to Fulham. The interest is there, and if Sandro hadn't gone down with injury (or we bought a CM we actually liked in January) he most likely would have been gone already.

- Sell Dempsey to Everton for 5m. We bought him for what I believe was around 6m, and with him having a pretty 'meh' season and being a year older, we will have to take a small hit. But, unless we want that hit to be even bigger, we've got to sell him now. Everton could be losing Fellaini, and I could see them thinking of Dempsey as a cost-effective replacement to the role he'd be leaving behind. Everton like Americans, too.

- Sell BAE or Rose. Open up Pre-Season Training telling them it's an open competition. It's what Rose wants and hopefully BAE is veteran enough to respect it. Whoever loses out is sold. I think their values are actually pretty similar, so I'll err on the side of caution with 7m from either sale.

- Sell Defoe for 8m. He started off great, and just as he does, he hits a wall. We need a better fit, and it's time to sell him now that his value is already taking a dip. Hopefully he can finish this season strong, thus helping his value more.

- Sell Parker to a squad that wants him for around 4m. I love what Parker did for us last season, but I think we need to look to finding a player that operates more like Sandro and less like Parker. Where ever he goes, he'll land on his feet and become a cult hero just as he was for us and West Ham.

- Loan out Kane, Ceballos, Pritchard, Mason and Luongo. These are the guys closer to being in the squad, younger guys will be loaned out, but I don't feel like listing them all.

- Players off the wage bill: Jenas, Bentley, Gomes, Cudicini, Gallas (Contract expires), Huddlestone, Dempsey, Parker and BAE (Guess - but his wage is bigger than Rose's).

Step 2: Player incomings...

- From the aforementioned sales, you can make a reasonable guesstimate that our transfer coffer has now risen to about 50m.

- We've seen Levy splash that sort of cash before, so this shouldn't be a shock if he were to jump right in and spend it all - especially considering in this scenario we were able to unload a shit-ton of wages.

- Buy Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for 13m. I won't let it die. Nope, won't do it. We may have pissed him off, but until he's on another club, I won't give up. RW/LW/CF starting talent but also great cover for all those positions.

- Buy Jordy Clasie for 8m. 21 years old with an incredible skillset and vision given his age. Poised, strong for his size, and a great option off the bench until he is ready to take over. CM/DM cover as he plays both at a high level for Feyenoord.

- Buy Robert Lewandowski for 20m. Our True CF. The one we've been craving. An attacking front that can consist of Bale/Aubameyang/Lennon/Lewandowski/Holtby/Siggy will have PL sides shitting their pants. Finally, a legitimate striker option!

- Buy Pedro Obiang for 8m. He's got the ability play as both a CM and a DM. Very, very poised on the ball with some incredible dribbling ability. Only 20 years old but has been a key part of Sampdoria this season. Very good at breaking up play and then launching an attack, he's a big part of why Sampdoria have allowed the 7th least amount of goals this season in Serie A.

Step 3: Depth Chart Review...

GK: Lloris, Freidel, Archer/Miles
RB: Walker, Smith/Naughton
CB: Kaboul, Vertonghen, Caulker, Dawson
LB: Rose/BAE, Naughton, Vertonghen
CM: Dembele, Clasie, Obiang
DM: Sandro, Obiang, Livermore
AM: Holtby, Sigurdsson, Mason
RW: Lennon, Aubameyang, Townsend
CF: Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Adebayor
LW: Bale, Aubameyang, Townsend

*** If my math is correct, this is 25 ***

Starting XI:

----------------------------------- Lloris ---------------------------------
Walker --------- Vertonghen ------------ Kaboul --------------- Rose
------------------- Sandro --------------- Dembele --------------------
Lennon ------------------------- Holtby -------------------------- Bale
----------------------------- Lewandowski ------------------------------

Backup XI:

----------------------------------- Friedel ------------------------------
Smith -------------- Dawson ----------- Caulker --------- Naughton
----------------------- Obiang ------------- Clasie --------------------
Aubameyang ----------------- Sigurdsson ---------------- Townsend
---------------------------------- Adebayor ----------------------------

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Lewandowski's going to Bayern Munich.

As far as I know, it's just the German media saying it's a done deal. I'll hold out hope.

Edit: However, you can realistically put another CF-type into that equation (Benteke/Damiao/Jovetic) and it basically holds up. So, if it's not exactly Lewandowski, there are other options at CF.

If i was a betting man, I think Benteke and/or Michu will be donning our colours next year.

I'd more than advocate maybe a Sigurdsson plush cash deal for Michu as I think he's a natural in front of goal and more importantly for me, got a great attitude and swagger about him.

Hugo Lloris
Brad Friedel

Kyle Walker
Adam Smith

Younes Kaboul (if he sign a new contract, or else we must look to sell)

Mousa Dembele
João Moutinho *
Lewis Holtby
Gylfi Sigurdsson

Llloris, Friedel
Walker, Naughton (or Smith if we get a good offer for Naughton)
Kaboul, Dawson
Vertonghen, Caulker
Assou-Ekottu, Rose
Sandro, Parker
Dembele, Carroll if we can't get anyone in
Holtby, Mason if we can't get anyone in
Lennon, Siggurdsson if we can't upgrade
Bale, Townsend
Defoe if we can't upgrade, Adebayor if we can't upgrade, Kane if we can't get anyone in

Ship out Gomes, Gallas, Huddlestone, Bentley and Dempsey, and I won't lose too much sleep if Bongani, Livermore, Dawkins and Falque also move on.

What I'd do, like to see.

Out:
Huddlestone for anything above 6M and promote Tom Carroll.
Naughton is ok and young enough to be a first choice right back at a lower prem club but not Spurs £3-6M and promote Adam Smith.
Parker if someones willing to pay 4-5M and promote Livermore
Gallas-free transfer-Kaboul Dawson Vertonghen Caulker should be enough.
Assou-Ekotto-shock horror but I get an impression we'll let him go, it makes finanical sense promote Rose and Ezekel.
Hopefully gone are Gomes, Bentley.

In.

No leftbacks is a bold move, can't see it catching on though

A couple of options for RW in that scenario would be Andre Carrillo, Heung-Min Son (Can double as a CF - where he's been playing a lot lately), Felipe Anderson or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

There's some great options in the above posts. But I think people need to remember that there are home grown rules for the EPL and the CL, where we may struggle if we sell the likes of Rose, Parker and Hudd in one off-season and replace them with foreigners.
