Alot of what I've seen of him reminds me of Dean Ashton, he is pretty young and I wouldn't be averse to us signing him as that much talked about "young 4th choice" striker who would accept not playing every game.

That said, I doubt that we would go for him and as has been mentioned he has David Moyes signing written all over him.

Really good call.

It's a pity the game lost someone of Ashotn's ability and talent. He would have been great. It will be interesting to see how Fletcher develops.

I would like to see him as the "4th striker" that is often talked about but I suspect if Moyes is interested he will end up at Everton and will do very well for them.

i think ashton was alot classier than just a target man in the terms its been put. Maybe they are comparable and i take back what i said :)

What games have you seen him play this season?

Every striker in the world misses chances

Seen too many to list all of them. But Fletcher's incidents:

Sunderland - Fletcher ran around like a headless chook. In a game the Clarets dominated and won 3-1, Fletcher was absolute pants and not worht 3p, let alone 3m.

Pompey @ Fratton - Fletcher had 3 clear cut chances in the 1st half anf fluffed all of them. Burnley absolutely bossed Pompey all game, but with Fletcher being so hopeless, (and Dowd gifting Pompey some howling decisions) Pompey got up 2-0

Bolton @ Turf Moor - Fletcher missed two absolute sitters and a couple of harder chances in a second half where Burnley taught Bolton a football lesson. Result - 1-1 draw. This promped Coyle (still at Burnley at the time) to publicly state he was looking at other striking options in the Jan transfer market.

Man U @ OT - Flatcher shot wide while 1 on 1 with VDS. No excuse for at least being on target. He also missed a couple of other good chances that the likes of Eidur, Pav, Defoe would have buried.

Villa @ Villa - Fletcher scored the easiest of easy taps ins that even Bent could have scored. In his defence, he brought out a funny goal celebration

Bottom line, he'll be playing in the Championship next year, where he belongs (just).

My mate who is a big Hibs fan couldn't believe the fee they got for him, said he is very average. I am inclined to believe this

He's the type of player that does very well with Martin O'Neill.
