Unlucky at the end there but we did all we could. I think this season has been a positive one given where we started and with AVB we have a very good and improving manager.

Let's all try and stay positive.

Am I the only one who thinks we still look better than Arsenal and if we didnt have our major players out we would of finished above Chelsea imo

The difference between us and Arsenal lately has been Kosceilny and if we had Sandro, Dembele and Kaboul fit we would of have done better

At the end of the day the final league table does the talking. All the teams above us are better then us.

Unfortunately you can't argue with that

We have missed the boat again this season and unfortunately big mouth arsenal goalkeeper was right we would fail and not deliver top four.
I really can't see us getting it next year we don't have the coin to challenge whereas all the others do even Liverpool will be better next season.
Oh well onwards and all that.

Very good point but if we get our players back I actually think we need less work done than teams above us. There seems there will be major changes to teams above us next season tbh

We didnt win anything and we didnt finish top four. Plus there is now a very good chance our best player will now leave. Whens the dvd out! :)

I personally do think that in the past 2 seasons we have been a better team than Arsenal, despite them finishing higher. In the same way that I think Wigan were a better team than Villa this year, but got relegated. I hate that phrase, "the table doesn't lie". Yes, technically it is true, but I just feel there's more to it than just a statistic.

I must say I feel a lot more optimistic about next season than I did this time last year. Gutted to miss out but we've got a great coach who is now nicely settled in - look forward to a title tilt next year!

Yup. Next season is looking good too, we'll be £80m better off

Yes it's a realistic expectation that bale may go he wants to play at the highest level and we can't get to that level unfortunately as we punch above our weight.

not really beats1, they scored more and conceded less goals. the difference as an example was maybe signing someone like Sturridge his 10 goals would have seen us POSSIBLY win at liverpool, beat fulham and beat wigan. hell if we had beaten wigan we would have been in 4th.

Every team has had their injuries and ours haven't been majorly worse than their's. Kaboul and Sandro have been our only bad injuries, and we've good replacements for them. We've played poor football for the majority of the season and have been much too reliant on individual brilliance, mainly from Bale, to win games. Both have looked better teams than us this year. Take the best player out of all three of our teams and Chelsea and Arsenal would still finish 3rd and 4th. We'd be nowhere near them.

Just can't stomach a summer of the press trying to get Bale to leave.

Until Bale signs a new contract then unfortunately this is going to be the case. To be honest, even if he does they'll still obsess over it. They want to sell papers, so they will make up all sorts of "exclusives" and other bollocks to do it. They'll keep doing it until they get the story they're after so that they can validate themselves and say "See, I told you we were right! We're never wrong! Ever! We're the paragons of truth!" and some such shit.

I wait with bated breath. :shifty:

i agree, but if he signs an extension or comes out and says he is not leaving it will end the nonsense. personally i do not think he will now, in november i thought he would be off at the end of this season.

I fucking love this club.

We came close and were ousted by a team on an incredible run. We didn't fall, we didn't choke, we didn't throw it away, we were just defeated by strong opposition. As much as I hate those pricks down the road, you've got to give them credit.

Credit also has to be given to Andre, and the incredible work he's done this year to achieve a record points total. Not bad for a manger who many thought wouldn't last beyond Christmas. He's got the fans onside and we're very very lucky to have him and his backroom staff.

Credit to Jan, to Mousa, to Sandro, Hugo and Aaron for their remarkable works all season long, the rest of the squad who never got beyond depressingly awful and not forgetting the fucking incredible gift that keeps on giving, Gareth Bale. I don't know if you'll stay or not but you're my hero either way.

Now we've got a good side with a good manager with a good chairman and good facilities. The stadium's on the way. The players look agile and clever in their play. We look like a changed team and some clever signings can push us further. Which we'll get to. Never mind 4th, we've got our teeth aiming for United's jugular.

The future is bright. The future is fucking lilywhite.

I think it's been a comparatively boring season.

Bale aside, we've lost some of the flair from recent years. Our home play in particular is a big step down. That's been balanced somewhat from having extra defensive steel away from home in the form of Dembele and Dempsey.

AVB has been a positive. Despite some early mistakes he has come through and shown real resilience and tactical quality.

Sadly, as soon as we assemble a decent side, we lose our best players.

Let's hope Bale has extreme patience. No more maybe's, we need some world class players now.

i also thought we were poor in many a game and often looked clueless at times. almoast unbalanced in our play. we have become too reliant on Bale i feel.

I totally agree but I think that is more down to some players not suiting our system I am hoping that these stumbling blocks will be off in the summer. It is also worth noting that Dembele has suffered a really bad hip injury which to me looks like he has been carrying for half a season as he has regained that form before it.
