It’s the international break........ and I’m bored.

Thinking about the summer and what changes we could make, obviously with not a lot of money to spend, this is what I would go for:

(I am assuming Mourinho is still here)

Out:
Winks
Alli
Dier
Aurier
Doherty
Bale (not returning)
Vinicius (not returning)

In
Skipp (loan return)
Sessegnon (loan return)
Sabitzer
Centre back (Anderson/Vestergaard/Botman)
Aarons
Olise
Ings

If Mourinho is not here then I could see there being minimal changes and obviously champions league qualification will be a factor on who we bring in.

I’m on the fence about Lamela and sissoko. Lamela is a fantastic option off the bench and gives his all for the club, however it’s the fittest he’s has been in five years and we not get higher amount after this summer. Similar sentiments with Sissoko off the bench although questions about attitude recently haven’t helped.

To your Ins list, I’d add Mukiele and Soumare. Probably need a creative real no.10, I’d love Grealish, but unless Levy loses his mind, that’s not happening.

A front 3 of Son - Kane - Neto would be super sexy and a nightmare to play against.
Him or raphinha would be massive signings. Would cost a ton though, and we've been linked quite reliably (Ornstein, lyall Thomas (okay not as reliable, but linked us again just this evening), Romano) with Nicolas Gonzalez from stuttgart who I think is fantastic, more similar to Neto than raphinha. All 3 left footed wingers with genuine rapid pace. Broke into the senior Argentina side and was their best player over the fall int'l break. Unlike some players who become injury prone when moving here, I do actually worry about his injury history, but we sign players who have almost never been injured and they become injured, so it's mostly down to bad luck. Mostly played up top this season, but frequently drifts out wide right to where he played mostly the previous season in the Bundesliga II. Versatile, rapid, fearless, direct. Will win 1v1 with pace and skill. Players with real threat from wide right are rare, and if bale stays, he can't play every game; Gonzalez is one of these type of players as are Neto and raphinha. I think a winger, and player in general, who will constantly ask questions of defenders with their dribbling is an element that the squad is lacking, and that's a major area I'd target.

Bale won’t be around, so a new RW, ideally left footed

Vini or a replacement. He’s done Ok for his first season, not a bad reserve.

Some creativity - we don’t have enough passers IMO, someone in CM/AM maybe, unless GLC grabs that role. He’s talented but has yet to really make his mark consistently.

A RB - Obvs

A CB - obvs

Truth be told, I have no idea who for the above though, as it totally depends on outgoings.

Could well need a Hugo replacement too.

Not going to get into names but we need minimum ..... right back ..... 2 cbs ..... 1 cm and that’s not skipp we need one in along with his return! That’s minimum after that we may need a gk depending on the Hugo situ ..... a right sided forward depending on the bale situ and possibly a cam? Long story short we cannot sit still a lot of work to do

I spoke to Daniel earlier unfortunately for yer wish list he wants double for every player you wish to sell! As for bringing players in he is very happy to let you know that skipp and sess are very much on the radar and would love to confirm that the club have signed them for the new season. Club scout also confirmed that we have been watching them both for a considerable about of time and would also like to point out the these 2 signings under current financial circumstances unfortunately take up 99.9% of our budget for the new season.

In an ideal world what I would like:

Neto
Sabitzer
Skiriniar
Maignan

What is more realistic:

Gonzalez
Vestergaard
Maignan

We need a new RB but I seriously cant think of anyone that would be decent or obtainable.

Naglesman or Potter is a must.
Out Mourhino and anyone the new man doesn't want
In anybody the new manager wants.
I'd be happy with that.

The problem with that is unless the new man comes in now, otherwise he won’t be able to know for sure who he doesn’t want in the short period that the transfer window is opened, and there’s no way that a new man is coming in now.

I’d be happy to get rid of Sissoko, Winks, dele, Lamela, Dier, Doherty, Davies and Aurier.

I’d keep Hugo(if he wants to stay)

I think clubs would take Davies and Doherty (£8m-10m each)in the lower half of the premier league.

Dier will probably think he’s better than lower prem. maybe Italy or Spanish top 6 club(£15m if we’re lucky).

Sissoko and Aurier need to go, again abroad I think £8-10m).

Dele-Love dele but I think we all need to move on he’s sadly not an elite player that once was. Elite players don’t go missing for seasons they he a few bad games and play consistently for season after season. Personally I think we’ll get about £30m plus add on’s. Again going abroad might be his best bet.

Winks might be one that surprises us but I think he might attract the most interest out of these lot. Not saying he should but home grown tidy midfielder. £15-20m

Hugo is the one that I’d really like to keep. I know he has his faults but as we’ve found in the past replacing a keeper is hard. All the top teams have struggled with this, and I’m not sure our budget will stretch to getting a top one in.

Then so next season we’d look a bit like this

Lloris, Hart, youth

Rb Tanganga( cb for me but if José here) need another.

Cb Toby, Rodon, Sanchez, Andersen( onloan at Fulham maybe a Toby style swoop)

If Jose goes and JN or Potter comes in I wouldn’t mind Foyth coming back as we’d play 3CB more often.

CM Skipp, PEH, NDombele, GLC. May need one more

ATM Sonny, Lucas, Scarlett, Devine, Bergwijn, we need another even with GLC playing in that role when everyone’s fit.

Fw Kane, Vinny(If we can do a deal).

It’s hard because there is so much up in the air atm with the manager and Covid.

I also wonder how Levy will view this window. Ally Gold reports that it’s a sell before we buy situation, but Levy may also view it as an opportunity to get some good deals(Maybe just me hoping). Like always I think a lot of or business will be done late both in’s and outs.

Also I hope we’ve all learnt that recycling the squad season on season is the only way to move forward. I think we all loved that 16/17 so much that we didn’t wanna see it broken up. However, we maybe need to sell to improve in the future.

Would like to see us play with a 442 or 4411 formation next season as I think it suits us but also takes some of the burden away from Harry and we wouldn't become so reliant.

Firstly we need to trim our squad, so that we can focus on a squad of 22 senior pros and then a few youngsters as back up.

Looking at our current squad, we could actually lose Gazzaniga, Rose, Dier, Carter-Vickers, Doherty, Dele, Winks and Sissoko and not even need to replace them. That is a lot of money off the wage bill if we can find buyers for them and Levy is willing to accept reasonable offers.

I don't see us signing a huge number of players, so personally I would look to add Lloris, Aurier, Vinicius and Sanchez (or Foyth) to our list of outgoings and replace them with Maignan, Konsa, Aarons and Ings.

GK - Maignan, Hart, Whiteman
LB - Reguilon, Davies
CB - Rodon, Alderweireld
CB - Konsa, Foyth
RB - Tanganga, Aarons
LM - Son, Sessegnon
CM - Ndombele, Lo Celso
CM - Hojbjerg, Skipp, Devine
RM - Lamela, Bergwijn
FC - Bale, Moura, Scarlett
FC - Kane, Ings

I know I have gone a bit FM but I just think that we need a transfer window where we have a clear strategy to streamline our squad and improve in certain positions and that doesn't seem too unrealistic (might need to accept loans for some of our players though)

I can't see the market being very active for most clubs this summer, excluding the mega-rich who do what they want.

Prices will be depressed. If we didn't have so much deadwood taking up squad space we could get some bargains. But there won't be teams wanting to buy the longs lists of players posted above.

As a result, I can't see the likes of Dier and Sissoko leaving.

Personally, I would let half of them go on a free and write off the loss, but it won't happen.

We might get £30m for Dele, but the people saying £45-50m are in dreamland.

I expect largely the same squad, but with a new CD. I hope I'm wrong because I feel we need renewal.
