Clearly not the same video as he did not go to ground in the one I watched. Shows how these 'showreels' can be selective and misleading though.

Easy to see from that video why we're interested, fast, aggressive, skillful and great recovery pace as well. Seems to have bags of technical ability and enthusiasm.

15m seems like a bargain. Perfect like for like replacement for foyth. The only worry is his strength, will he be able to adapt to the English game, but definitely worth a punt (from that video).

This may seem a bit out there but how about having fullbacks either side who are good both going forward and defensively so you can attack and defend well down both sides instead of one

Yeah but that's not a good enough excuse to leave mate gonna have to try harder than that to get levy to let you go ?

It is entirely possible to sogn an actual right back decent enough at both instead of signing a centerback to play full back when we already have Tanganga(& Dier atm)
He played almost exclusively at RB during his first season at Bologna. About 50-50 last season. I'm not sure how that makes him a "centerback to play full back".

  1. Tommy, in his 2 seasons in a top league, has played 40 matches at right back and 18 at centre back: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tak...erein=&liga=&wettbewerb=IT1&pos=5&trainer_id=
  2. It’s at full back that he achieved his highest rating by whoscored metrics (whatever that is worth).
  3. The most eye catching thing in any of the compilations are the work he does in the flank, particularly in his dribbling add passing in my opinion(I accept that this point is subjective).
  4. Decent enough in both directions isn’t what the discussion was, the discussion was ‘very good in both directions’. There really are just a handful who are ‘very good’ in both directions, though I accept that there are plenty who are decent, if that really is your criteria. After all, Ben Davies on the other side is decent in both directions, would you like a right side version of him? Didn’t think so.

In the nicest possible way, if tomorrow were announced Messi on a free this poster would be saying ‘typical, signed a 35 year old free transfer just to sell merchandise and get PR which clearly won’t fit into the manager ethos’.

And he is too small to play in the league! :barefoot:

i really like Ally Gold but how the hell does he know what tactics Nuno will adopt next season. It’s just guess work. We have seen England and Italy transition from 4 to 3 at the back. It’s just the new in thing. Nuno probably hasn’t decided yet lol

Watched him a bunch for Bologna (I've honestly watched more Serie A than Prem last 2-3 years, far more entertaining). Really good player, would be a strong signing and has the tools to do well in this league too.

As an obsessive from scratch cooker of high society ramen, along with having a predilection for expensive omikase sushi, I’m totally down with this signing.

Itadakimasu !
