DAoes anyone think Jose will start Ndombele? Id like him to start with GLC and say Winks in the middle then have Son, Dele and Bergwijn (element of surprise)

Lloris
Tanganga Toby Sanchez Sessegnon
Lo celso Ndombele Ali
Lamela Son Bergwijn

wouldnt mind seeing something like that doubt ndomb and Berg will start so I guess winks and Moura and verts might replace the obvious ?

Hugo
Aurier Sanchez Toby Tanganga
Ndombele Winks Foyth Fernandes Dier Lamela
Craig Levein's 4-6-0. The mass hysteria this formation would cause in the match thread would keep me well-nourished for days.

I don't think Ndombele or Bergwijn start. So I think we'll see:

Lloris
Aurier Toby Sanchez Tanganga
Winks Gedson
Lamela Lo Celso Dele
Son

Think pace up front is our best bet. Ndombele driving forward through their press from deep (did that well against them for Lyon last season).

Hugo
Aurier Sanchez Toby Tanganga
Ndombele
Lo Celso Alli
Lucas Son Bergwijn
That looks powerful. Imagine Aurier without proneness to errors and that’s a ‘chunky’ team (first adjective that sprang to mind??‍♂️)

Not so sure about Gedson starting. He is clearly talented but the southampton game completely passed him by and Jose was not complimentary in the post match interview. Playing centre mid in the prem takes time to adjust to, especially coming from a league like Portugal where you get half an hour on the ball before a tackle comes in!

Hopefully Ndombele is ready. Hes played well against them before so it could be the right game for him to come back.

If we can stay in it until 65 minutes or so, the pace we will have on the counter in Bergwijn, Son and Moura will give us more than a decent chance.

I'm actually feeling more positive about us than I have for a very long time. You can just begin to see the team taking shape under Mourinho. Given the right backing, he could make us competitive next season.

Not my choice but I think Jose will start with this line up -

Lloris

Aurier - Sanchez - Toby - Tanganga

Ndombele - Winks

Moura - Dele - GLC

Son

Bench - Gazza, Verts, Gedson, Bergwijn, Lamela, Dier, Sess

I think Bergwijn will get some minutes in the second half.

Not sure if Davies is fit, but pretty much the team I'd like to see out there.

Really don't see why Sonny cannot play the lone striker role up front for us , yesterday Leicester had Vardy basically alone up front v Chelsea , Vardy height 1.78 metres, weight 74 kg, Sonny height 1.83 metres , weight 77 kg.
Put Sonny up front with a line of four attack minded supporting behind Lucas, Gio , Dele etc , works for Leicester.

PS Just for comparison other top teams attacking players,
Liverpool Firmino 1.81 m. 76 kg, Mane 1.75 m 69 kg, Salah 1.75 m 71 kg.
Man City Aguero 1.73 m. 77 kg , G Jesus 1.75 m 73 kg .

Why all this insistance that we need some huge hold up player up front.

Honestly wish we’d give Dele a go as the focal point of the attack, in a sort of False 9 role - whilst Harry is out.

I feel like all his best attributes mean he would suit that role.

It’s hardly been working with Lucas or Son playing up top.

Totally agree with this. Although I think the insistence on us having a lump up front is more to do with Mourinho’s tactic of getting us to hoof it. Under Poch is wasn’t such an issue as we were possession based and played through the lines.
