Lloris
Walker Toby Jan Rose
Dier Bentaleb
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Kane

This really is not difficult. Only questions are fitness levels for Lloris, Rose and Lamela

Dier in midfield? At home!!

Seriously mate, I'll be gutted to see that midfield again - let alone in a home game we're expected to win.

Perhaps he should be given another game or two to turn it around, but I think Bentaleb deserves to be relegated to the EL XI for the time being. Today was not the first time that his careless arrogance on the ball has cost us. When Sherwood brought him into the senior team he cited Bentaleb's mentality as the primary factor, but it seems as though he has bought into his own hype a bit and needs to be humbled. I don't say this to slate him, he's clearly a massive talent, but a reminder that he is not undroppable will hopefully reignite the hunger that we saw from him when he first broke into the side. So that being said I'd go with:

--------------Lloris--------------
Walker--Toby--Verts--Rose
--------Dier----Mason/Alli----
Dembele*--Lamela---Eriksen
--------------Kane--------------

*If, as ghostofarmo has suggested, we've brought in Berahino in time I'd drop Dembele, shift Lamela to the right, Eriksen central and Berahino left

It's funny how quick some are to drop Bentaleb. Was poor today but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I see no reason why Mason wont come back into the side for next week. Looked bright when he came on.

Like most I'd like to see Trippier play but Walker was good today and simply unlucky with the OG. There are very few players in the league with the speed to have got back to Rooney like he did. Back 4 same unless Rose is fit.

As you were otherwise. Any new signings on the bench.

Are people seriously dropping bentaleb after one bad game? He was one of our best players last year, just had a bad day. Made a bad mistake and then couldn't get over it, so responsibly poch took him off early. Because he's so mature and composed it's very easy to forget he's 20!!! Dropping him after this could cause much more harm than good! Play him, get behind and and let him redeem himself, if only for his own confidence and piece of mind.

Bentaleb was the worst player on the park today by a wide margin, and to be honest he hasn't looked at the races at all in the few glimpses we got of the team during preseason. When others in the squad (namely Alli) are showing better form, why shouldn't they be given an opportunity? Chadli was one of our most productive players last season in terms of end product yet people are rightly calling for him to be dropped based on his contribution today. The same standards ought to apply to everyone, and Bentaleb needs to learn that he can't switch off for a moment in the PL, as we all know he has a tendency to do.

I'm sympathetic to the view that he is exceptionally young and that dropping him abruptly might do some harm, and that we have to be realistic and expect that he will be inconsistent. That being said I hardly think being dropped to the bench for a week or two will crush him. I think the crux of the issue is that his shortcomings seem to stem from a certain arrogance - he's now supposedly among the highest paid players in the squad (eclipsing Vertonghen if reports are to be believed), and after last season probably sees himself as a fixture in the first XI. That kind of attitude can lead to the lapses in concentration that we've seen from him on a number of occasions. I'm not saying he should be dropped permanently, merely that he should be sent a message that he is not undroppable and that he needs to up his focus if he wants to remain one of the first names on the team sheet, which given his ability he ought to be.

You are right to Bentaleb. Now the goal came 20 mins, why not come back to 1-1? What are the attackers?

The medium should be changed but the attackers have also mark is essenciel to win. A team that is led by a single goal early in the game, she does not blame his only CM but did everything to return

We need to be attacking at home and dembele proved today he can get stuck in and track back and put the work in while fit and free from injury. We need creativity and attacking play and with alli in the middle who will be keen to impress Im sure it would be a good mix
