Where’s this idea that Tanganga is a left back come from?
Seen it posted in several of these lineup threads

The guy didn’t exactly set the world alight at rb a few weeks ago.
Playing him out of position at lb is hardly going to do him any favours.
In a back three, at Cb or at rb at a push I think he can do a solid job and keep developing.

He has played as a lb for us a few times.
I would rather play him at CB, but with Davies as our only fit LB, I would give him a game off.

Stick with Sanchez and Toby for the rest of the season, get the rhythm and understanding going. Plus Sanchez is the only defender with recovery pace

I'm actually not fussed about the FA Cup this year. I honestly think that we should be looking to put all our energy into the Carabao final and then the Europa League. Then again, win this and we are in the quarter finals. It's a short run 3 more games maximum however we are still making up for lost time with the Villa game being re-scheduled.

We need the core from today and that hunger that has been missing from past performances.
The win should do wonders and now Son has broken his juju let's hope normal service is resumed!

Ok
Felt certain he only played there once , against Watford (it didn’t go well)
And he’s only played at Rb sparingly- one game cup game v Middlesbrough where he was MOM

one good, one bad
Maybe that’s why they stick in my mind

Would like Son rested out of anyone.

Same line up, maybe Doherty in for Serge if he is injured.

We definitley need to build on anything we can get now.
Maybe its the resurrection of Lamela and Moura.
I get it. But i’d be very worried about Kane & Lamela playing 3 games in 6 days. Especially when Kane rushed himself back for WBA. So i think we should be conscious of this. Big match Saturday too.

What we need most is confidence, and confidence springs from continuity.

This means we should be looking to start the exact same team as against WBA, injuries permitting. Nobody performed to a standard that deserves dropping as well.

Toby doesn't seem to have the legs to play back to back games in a short time and Rodon deserves minutes as he's showing promise as one of our better defenders.
Not sure if that’s necesarrily true about Toby. He’s played 3 games in the last week.

Tactically I believe Rodon should start and mark DCL who has been an absolute menace in the box for Everton this season.

Lloris
Doherty Toby Rodon Tanganga
Ndombele Hojbjerg
Lucas Lamela Son
Kane

Subs: Hart, Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Bergwijn, Bale, Vinicius

Build on last game, hardly any changes unless fitness depended. I assume Aurier might be out ..

Lloris
Doherty, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies
Ndombele, Højbjerg
Lamela, Lucas, Son
Kane

Hart, Tanganga, Dier, Sissoko, Devine, Bergwijn, Bale, Vínicius, Scarlett

I’d prefer rodon for Sanchez as he knows how to defend and is good in the air.

I’d be tempted to drop Kane into Lucas position and put vinicius up top (drop Lucas to bench).

think it would give Everton a lot to contend with.

They play even worse football but they are good at set pieces and crosses where we struggle. And Sanchez is one of the worst CBs to deal with that. Similar team to West Brom but Rodon or Dier over Sanchez.

Don't fancy Dier to deal with Calvert-Lewin. Would probably give that jobto Rodon. Will probably need Sissoko to help Aurier out with Digne + whoever else they play down that side. I'd go 433 so the midfield doesn't get overrun.
