I actually went today and I have to say that it was one of the best days of my life (especially as they were updating us with the Spurs score)

West Indies currently making England look extremely good atm

Mind you I suppose Stokes is pretty decent when he’s got his eye in but this is pathetic from the Windies

….not exactly Holiding/Daniel/Marshall/Garner!

Making Dom Bess look decent ffs

Root must have an outside squeak at most ever test runs. Coming up to 10k he’s just 31 so at least 5 years left probably more like 7 or 8. With say 30 innings a year could actually do it quite easily. 15,900 is most.

Some stats doing the rounds after yesterday;

Joe Root needs 125 more runs to become only the second England batter to reach 10,000 after Sir Alistair. At the end of his innings yesterday, for the first time in 2 years his batting average is now higher than Virat Kohli.

Ben Stokes' century took him onto a list of only 5 players to have ever scored 5,000 runs and taken 150 wickets. The other 4 are Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Ian Botham, Kapil Dev and Jacques Kallis. Stokes also moved into 6th on the list for most 6's hit in Test Cricket.

Perhaps the best one...Chris Woakes' 2nd over with the new ball yesterday which happened about 30 mins after the tea break was a maiden. This was the 1st maiden over that had been bowled in the entire day's play...

Watching England bowl is painful, so toothless, letting the windies rotate strike comfortably. This match has got draw written all over it. If this was SA, Aus, or any other team infact, theyd be putting pressure on making it difficult to score. But not Joe Root, field spread encouraging the singles and strike rotation, seemingly no plan, no keeping one guy on strike and forcing a mistake!

just came to say the same. at a time where test cricket is in danger, to produce 2 pitches like these in the West Indies so far, is an utter disgrace.
They want the revenue for 5 days of play, but it’s short termism at its finest as there won’t be 5 day tests in the future as crowds slowly move away from that form of the game (well at least outside of England, Australia and to a lesser extent India)

Our inflexibility in our batting order always confuses me. If you want to press the game open with Stokes and Bairstow ffs, don’t just ask the wrong players to go out and throw wickets away inviting more pressure

I hope we're seeing the start of a successful Test career for Saqib. really impressed with his attitude, fitness and skill.

Hopefully we get a leadership team who can manage him properly so we don't break yet another fast bowler.

I will watch Test cricket until the end of time. But these pitches have really tested me. A lot more than they have tested the batters so far it would seem.

IPL beginning in a few days and the new season of County Cricket in a couple of weeks. I'm quite bored of football these days so looking forward to the summer of cricket.
