Just cannot see us matching the number Southampton would probably want for JWP. Wouldn't be against the move if Winks and Sissoko go and we got him. However, personally I think we'll be looking to lowball someone in Europe for a central midfielder if Winks and Sissoko both leave.

I imagine they’d be looking in the region of £30-40m for him?

If that’s the case, we could likely make a big chunk of that up with players - Winks, Sanchez, Sissoko, Dier, CCV are the ones who spring to mind.
A lot more £50+ with add ons.

I mean, I don’t do the club’s transfer dealings so I can’t comment on what “we will do”.

I’m saying that’s presumably an option. I’d have assumed the caveat of “if they were interested in those players and said players wanted the move” was so obvious that it goes without saying.

Clearly overestimated the crowd somewhat.
It was meant with tongue very firmly in cheek Freeeki - wasn’t calling you out whatsoever ?

Some reports that we tacked on a buyback clause. Smart if true. Think he'll turn out to be a classy LB in a couple years.
Supposedly turned down a contract with us so little choice but to sell him. Paratici will know how to get a good buy back / sell on clause into the contract from his time in Italy, would be in a lot of contracts in Italy / Spain. Good move for the lad given he has 3 ahead of him at the minute and now Sunderland own him they are more likely to play him than if he was just on loan. Good deal all round

If we're going to be playing with tricky wingers like Gil, who draw lots of fouls, Ward-Prowse might actually make a lot of sense as his set pieces are obviously outstanding. He's always had that in his locker, but in recent years has developed into a good player regardless too.

Don't think it'll happen for all of the reasons everyone has already mentioned, but I actually find the interest quite encouraging (assuming it's genuine) as it's a profile that I think would improve us.

More than likely a sell on clause for the price reported, I read it was only a six figure fee.

Wow surprised at cirkin leaving, guess he was a mourinho only favourite.

Isn't JWP basically winks with good freekicks? Not good enough for the fee they'd want

Guessing that's Takehiro Tomiyasu, also known as "The Japanese Lad", for the sake of confusing him with an Audi, a Motorcycle Road Event, or anyone/thing else with the initials 'TT'

Either that or Sonny’s got our scouts watching CreamHeroes. This is going to be so lost on everyone… :(
