I know Daka is definitely 1 of 3 players that I am aware of, that we are very interested in, but thats all I know. Here is a little high level stat report on him.

Patson Daka (21) – Forward – RB Salzburg

  • Although it is the Austrian league, he has scored 24 goals in 34 games, all from open play. That is an average of 1.2 goals per 90 minutes that he plays, all non-penalties higher than all Malen, Firmino, G.Jesus, Mbappe and ilk of his age group
  • Most of the goals he has scored are within the penalty area (22) which equals top Prem goal scorer Jamie Vardy (22) and he has a conversion rate of 29% that is almost double when compared to G.Jesus (17%) and Firmino (12%) and on par with to P-E. Aubameyang and Vardy
  • With a shooting accuracy of 62%, this betters all of Aguero (51%), Firmino (55%), Ings (57%), to P-E. Aubameyang (59%), and G. Jesus (59%). Donyell Malen (65%) and Jamie Vardy (63%) only better this.
  • On average, Daka has 2.5 shots on target per game equalled to Donyell Malen, versus his next competition from Premier League Aguero with 1.8 average per game
  • Conversion ratio of 29% is only beaten by P-E. Aubameyang on 30%, and Vardy (33%) however has a higher conversion rate of almost double to Firmino (12%) and G. Jesus (17%)
  • In comparison to Premier League top goalscorers (Vardy, Aubameyang, Ings), Daka has a joint top Aerial duals successfully won with Vardy at 35%
** Daka to me looks like a younger version of Drogba, with pace, directness and a clinical finisher inside the box. I believe he would easily be attainable for around £20 million
I know of 3 players on our radar, Daka is one of them, whether 1st choice or not I do not know. The other 2 players I know about have not been mentioned in the press to my knowledge, 1 is a striker and one is a creative midfielder
We are not getting Edouard, unless we are wanting to spend £40 million.

So are you or are you not presenting info as ITK? Confused as a number of posts lately make it seem as if you are. Thanks.

Why, if we're so strapped for cash, are we even negotiating with Bale when the money could be put to better use?

Makes no sense to me.

Irons in the fire. What if the striker talk collapses and we don’t have time to revisit the Bale deal. We have nothing to lose. Play both deals against each other and complete the one that most benefits us. It’s the Art of the Deal

Hope it’s Edouard, ceiling is ridiculously high and is wasted at Celtic - would explain why my suggestion was deleted from the thread earlier this week too...
We’d be paying over his value if we went in now. There would be uproar up there if he was sold when they were going for 10 in a row

To be honest I'd rather get one of the two young forwards with enormous potential and go all out for one of them.

The info I got was a one off, and unlikely to get anything else. I just know of 3 players we are very interested in, Daka is one but have no info on Edouard and whether he is also a target.

Lol you can't be run by a bean counter like Levy and be "strapped for cash".

He loves to balance everything we do and run to budgets etc, but if you think he couldn't find a windfall of money for the right deal you'd be wrong. We'd have done similar last season with the lad from juve if things hadn't of gone pear shaped in the final stages.

Don’t get all het up about values and clauses. Remember Gio’s sell on clause. That didn’t hold water in the end.

Just hold tight and enjoy the ride before we hit the safety barriers again.

Don't get my wrong I'd be well excited over Bale but I just think the younger forwards we're being linked to would be better over the long term.
We arent spending 30-40m on a young striker when we have a highly promising young striker coming through already in Troy Parrott.

Just for the avoidance of doubt and to stop any speculation, Beni is not ITK. He had one exchange (which he shared with us) that led him to post some info but beyond that he's not ITK and I wouldn't foresee that circumstance to crop up again.

I'd bloody love to know who we are trying to sign forward wise as there's so much conflicting info swirling about, more than I can ever remember.

Guess it's just so many irons in the fire with people hearing different things at different stages of the process.

The opposite, they’re out of the CL and will not be getting any crowds for the foreseeable. They’ve also bought a couple of players. They need the cash

Yeah I’m getting motion sickness jumping from one target to another. Just so intrigued as to who everyone has such confidence over...

yup. as we know every transfer we do requires about 50 separate things all to line up perfectly so not surprising we've probably got just as many options out there for the inevitable switching of targets.
