I see the current bun running a story were some of the players would be upset if AVB was appointed.

They're trying to undermine any future potential success we might have. You wait till the Big Sam rumours pick up - the Sun will think he's the best manager in the world to take us forward. :)

I guess there was always going to be a backlash of sorts. I just find a story that mentions no names or quotes coming from a paper that employs a certain former employee of ours as mischief making in the extreme.

If it had a little more content or had come from a more reputable publication I might have not instantly dismissed as utter cack.

Any appointment is going to get stick off Harry's employer, while I doubt Harry is behind the media hate campaign personally there is no doubt that as far as press are concerned Levy shot bambi so any appointment is going to get crucified even Fergie or Wenger or Mourinho so Levy has to think fuck the press and make the best choice for Spurs not the press

Just the latest of Redknapp's parting shot hate campaign through his media chums.

Now, what far fetched ideas would be Spurs fans' biggest fears to play on:
1) The return of Comolli
2) A transfer committee
3) Appointment of senior staff from Arsenal
4) Players' revolt

Funny they've all been red top stories this weekend now isn't it.

Oh how I'll miss him now he starts fading into obscurity.

I'm not holding my breath for anything earth shattering, although you'd like to think that they'd already lined someone up if they were thinking about HR going 6 months ago or whatever...

...mind you this is Spurs, deadline day Spurs. That does not fill me with confidence. Still no Verts official either, let alone any more players that we badly need. Suppose they can put failings in the market down to not having a manager in place now too. Big things? Hurry the fuck up.

"Boss, things are quiet because of the Euros so we have a few empty columns on the sports pages"....

"No worries son, just make up some shite about Spurs. They're good for it and it'll keep my mate 'Arry 'appy!!"

For once he has a point. Not that this is the thread to discuss it ;)

Which is the point.

No real need to point out the Sun story either. Or the excellent piece in the Guardian by David Conn.

Have you ever, in your whole spurs supporting life, had anything remotely positive to say about the club? Been on here a few years now and read a lot of your posts and, at first i thought "ah well he mustnt be particularly happy with that particular comment", this changed to "hmmm a bit of a grumpy bugger this one" ..... and have now done a final revision to "did you walk in on your missus multi-tasking on barry chuckle, bernie winters, schnorbitz and timmy mallet combo?".... Too much anger for a bright new week

Ah just to move away from managerial talk for a change, I was in bed early last night and missed the itk.....but I see Jacob has said that Vertonghen is finally now pretty much done. I know its nothing new really and we all knew it looked like it was still going ahead, but its still comforting to see that something non managerial posted and to know that the small matter of improving our squad hasn't been forgotten just yet.

So, is Ralf Rangnick one of the surprise names? Haven't heard him mentioned at all. You bookie-mongers will probably get him at 2,000-1 right now.

But it looks like he's still trying to influence his successor (bet he'd love Moyes) and/or make sure they are set up for an uphill battle at the start. It's very much in the interests of Redknapp to see us screw up badly now, so he'll do all he can to ensure that. There's no magnanimity in defeat/affection for us from Redknapp.

Best price 20/1 (until a few more bookies re-activate their markets)

I've been positive enough about everything besides our recent failings in the market, I'm not particularly chuffed with things at the minute.

Probably because one of the best managers we've had was sacked and now we're all hanging on who's to come in. I was quite optimistic about getting back into the CL with HR at the helm, not so much now.

I want a manager in place asap and him to be backed bigtime, I have doubts about both happening. Big plans? Time will tell, the sooner the better though, it seems we arse about a bit.
