Such is the quality of the signings we've made and will possibly make before the window closes, I wonder if Bale would even want to leave.

When you look at City & their squad you realise that even by keeping bale we need to add more quality if we (and levy & Lewis) are serious about a title challenge.

There is no chance we are going to spend another £60m and keep Bale.

I can us maybe stretching to Willian with possibly Siggy or Townsend going to offset it slightly but that's it. Unless Bale is already gone of course.

We're not going to go into the season with only 3 CBs. Chiriches or Alderweireld or other is a certainty IMO.

Depends how highly AVB rates Capoue as a CB. He has said he wants versatile players, so maybe he sees him as the 4th CB. I would prefer another one in though just to be safe as we love an injury crisis at Spurs

I definitely don't see us spending a lot more money if Bale stays.

But I also don't see Bale staying.
Anything is possible. This whole window makes a surrealist film look like Coronation Street. Frankly, I would not be suprised if we signed Salvador Dali, with Bunuel as an off-the-bench-super-sub. The fact that they are dead doesn't matter. We are beyond that rather tedious reality now. Next week AVB will be replaced by a banana and Daniel Levy by a panther. And we'll still win the league.

Oh come on, have you seen Madrid's squad? Their record in the Champions League, their stadium, their global fan base? We've made real progress, to be proud of, but seriously, there's about 15 players in their squad who would walk into our team.

Has he actually ever played there? Or is he another Huddlestone/Sandro/Walker 'yeah he also plays CB'.

I'm hardly saying we're as good or big as them but he may want to stay a bit longer and be the star of this team. At Madrid he will simply be another gallactico.

He has played there, according footieline-ups 23 starts on last four league seasons. Majority as part of 2 man central defence, few as part of 3 man central defence.
