In response to JJ's 'Manager is more complicated' comment.
Is it possible that AVB has a clause in his Chelsea contract payoff preventing him from taking over us or anyone prior to a certain date? If he had, that would certainly be 'complicated' and could prevent an appointment before a particular time.
I know f-all about such contracts but just wondered, cos if Abramavich has paid AVB £13m or whatever to get rid, he probably wants AVB to F-the F-off for a while. Maybe if we want AVB we're talking compensation?
Just a thought!
Depends on the contract detailing the settlement - but AVB signed a 3 year contract with Chelsea wgich ended in March and presumeably received a payoff based upon the time left on the contract. The settlement contract may well have said the settlement would reduce if he got a job before the end of the 3 years or an earlier date. Could have neen 6 months or a year - doubt for much longer as courts would say its a restraint of trade etc (but I am not a lawyer)
