Looks like we'll have to largely make do with the squad that we've got.

That shouldn't really be an issue considering the amount we spent on them in the first place, so now it's looking like it's down to the Poch-meister.

He did say that he was more than happy with the squad that TS inherited. Lets hope he does better than Timmy did last year. I'm sure Mr Levy will be watching closely.

It's amazing how easy it is to negotiate when you know you've got £85m big ones coming your way.

Sort of. Imagine you run a football club and Daniel Levy calls you, you would just say fuck that and put the phone down. If on the other hand Baldini phones you, you may at least have a chat.

I seem to remember Lloris talking about being impressed/persuaded by our ambitious plans, which I assume involved the transfer market, when he was signing his new contract as well.

The reality is though we're planning for a new stadium and I don't know what we can or can't do, feasibly, so there's no point in getting too down beat about it.

If the latest 12 million for MS is accurate it does make you doubt how serious we were about getting him though as that's derisory in today's market.

Ah well, lets see where we are after the window shuts and then reflect. Still optimistic enough given we have Poch.

At some point, somehow a manager has got to be backed with at least one signing. Otherwise the same cycle will just repeat. And as I've said, stop thinking managers are magicians. Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho and Capoue are in their mid 20s. They won't change much as players now.

Do they need to change 'that' much? If all are fit we've more than adequate qualities there. Defensively Sandro is a rock. Capoue can play in the Schneiderlan role. Dembele has so much ability and Paulinho has lots to offer as a goalscoring midfielder. We've good options if coached right.
They don't need to change as such just need coached to work in a system, something AVB failed to do.

How people are happy to see "how we go" "give people more time" and all that bollocks is beyond me, when do we say right this is our time ? When do we say let's have a go at this and go challenge the big boys ? Let's be honest we are nowhere near those big boys and if they continue to get stronger and we continue to sit still we will be sat here in 2 years saying the exact same thing. I love peoples optimism on here but maybe a bit of realism would be handy ? Poch is good but he can't get the one player he really wants in ms, what chance has he got.

What like Aston Villa did a few years ago? Until they didn't make the CL and then got saddled with a massive wage bill and subsequently had to sell all their best players and focus on just consolidating. Great idea.
