I'm expecting even more departures :-( News that Son's agreed terms with Wolfsburg and rumours of a few other outs leaves us a bit thin.

If we sell Son, N'Jie and Chadli then we're going to need to go on a wide-player buying spree!

I've never heard of that happening before...have u?

Not off the top of my head.

This had been a strange transfer though......and remember, this is Spurs we are talking about. We make a point of coming up with strange, intriguing circumstances why things don't go as planned. We're bloody pioneers in fact :D.

Really though, I haven't got a scooby what's going on with our transfer window at the moment:confused:. It's all gone old Spurs style.

Losing Son, in addition to N'Jie, doesn't do anything to endorse Mitchell's work at the club.

@JJetset on Son this morning:

  1. Daniel Main ‏@DMain20 8h8 hours ago
    @jetsetyid JJ is the son stuff true ? :( and can we expect anything exciting in the last few days of the window #COYS

  2. @DMain20 what stuff?

    Daniel Main ‏@DMain20 8h8 hours ago
  3. @jetsetyid about him going to Wolfsburg ?
4 The original JJetset‏@jetsetyid
@DMain20 doubt it

So that makes it sound like this story is unlikely, he has also mentioned that he has waited to talk about some things until it's broken in the press (due to easier traceability of leaks) - so perhaps these reports of Son to Wolfsburg are a couple of days out of date.

However JJ has also said this a couple of days ago on a Son departure:

  1. tobywallace ‏@tobywallace5 Aug 23
    @jetsetyid any truth in a son departure?? Thanks

  2. The original JJetset ‏@jetsetyid Aug 23
    @tobywallace5 no that I've heard ?

  3. tobywallace ‏@tobywallace5 Aug 23
    @jetsetyid just trash talk I guess. thanks
The original JJetset‏@jetsetyid
@tobywallace5 dunno unless they have offered a massive amount ?

So he obviously is / was available for purchase if a Club met the valuation.

I guess the question is, are these news reports a few days old and in fact they are not offering what we want and it's been rejected...or have they previously been knocked back for Son and are coming back in with a 'big' money offer which is acceptable to us...

Things are looking a bit erratic this week.

A bid for Zaha while releasing Son and Njie. Our bench looks desperately anaemic at the moment with nothing there last week aside from Alli that suggested we could change or chase the game if we had to. Releasing Son seems particularly disappointing and it's not clear at all that Zaha would offer an improvement. Zaha is pretty underwhelming - has he shown more than Berahino, who can arguably play in a broader range of attacking positions?

Offering Bentaleb a bumper new 5-year deal but shipping him out after almost no game time last season. If he's got an attitude problem, was that not clear when they were wooing him to sign the 5-year terms? Is the guy immune to an attitude adjustment, given he clearly has talent?

And even the little barb about Lamela 'showboating' seemed a bit off - Lamela actually beat his man and went passed him, which isn't his usual game - so surely the outcome should be applauded even if it was a 'showy' move that did it.

Son along with Mason was hooked at half time at Newcastle. There was a lot of talk at the time that game had convinced Poch certain players couldn't be trusted - obviously MAson's going, wouldn't be a surprise if Son was sacrificed also .

Remember no clubs sell there top players with days remaining in the window. It simply won't happen.

But alas...Surely it plays out that Son goes to Wolfsburg, allowing the Woolwich Wanderers to snaffle Draxler.

Allowing Levy to enter the fray with wild excitement declaring how hard the GKN deal was to get over the line and we should commend him.

Surely we're not continuing in the clusterfuck manner of some windows gone by we started so well this window.Twas' good enough for Oliver Twist...Of course I want more.

We sold Bale on the final day, Goons bought Ozil final day of the season. They do very much happen, but it's all about circumstances and fee.

We had already bought Bales replacements, and Ozil was surplus to requirements with a star squad a Madrid
