Well, if he goes, he goes. It felt like the end of the world when Berbatov left and again when Bale left etc etc, but we always slowly came back a bit stronger. There were six other teams that had a better season in the league and Cups than us last year, and none of them had Kane. His goals will be a big miss, but as long as the money is used wisely and with a bit of luck, we will get stronger for him leaving In the longer term.

Agreed, we would need to invest intelligently. The issue is that we would need to hit the ground running. Investing in players outside of the PL is a big risk. However, 200m would but you 2 world class players at least.

completely, if it’s £150m - £200m. I would take the money. We can use that on 3 players. City would have spent £250m which is obscene. I wouldn’t be saying good luck to kane either
Imagine winning the league and just missing out on the CL then dropping another 250m on two players. It’s like fantasy football. Would love it if they got a 2 year CL ban.

Locked. Just to see if there's an upturn in posts within the Kane thread or some of you really are electioneering for the job as your village idiots and genuinely think that A: Our request to take it there can freely be ignored or B: This is the only thread to post it in

A most interesting experiment. One which will no doubt leave you somewhat baffled. Do you stop posting about Kane, in which case you never knew about the player threads and are therefore somewhat lacking in the brain cell department or do you go over there and post and out yourself as a pisstaker who needs banning.

Ooooh.

oooooh!

Romero isn’t done. As of this morning negotiations remained ongoing. Spurs really pushing. It probably will happen but it’s not done yet and the negotiations have been delicate. Personally desperate for this one to happen.

This is out there already but we are looking to offload MANY players so lots of outs in the coming days. I reckon this season will probably be a transition season as the squad is being overhauled.

Good.

I'd be happy to finish 5th-8th if it meant we got rid of the underperforming players who have been here far too long.

Thanks for the info. Always suspected a number of players would go this window and some that may be a little surprising to some. Obviously big changes in a window don't necessarily make it easy going into a season with players needing time to settle etc so the transitional aspect is kind of expected somewhat.

Great to hear focus shifting the shit, and ITK has said that Pat has lots of delas going on simultaneously, though not sure we should aim for 5th to 8th before we kicked a ball. Think its this mentality that is the issue !

Why the fuck can't we achieve more? Just because we got outs doesn't mean we won't be upgrading or should expect a decline.

Appreciate this. Feels so delicate and massive in terms of how our season will shape out.

We've had ITK telling us to calm and it'll be fine etc but I think we all know Tottenham. Until it's done it could go either way

Hugely disappointed to see the WLB ITK. Felt it was coming, prayed it wasn't, now feel sick to the stomach. It feels like any slim chance we had of trophies will be leaving with Harry. And Hotspur88 saying he does expect City to make a huge offer. All the stars are aligning, but against us it seems.
There is life after Harry Archie ?

Some would say: Football is life!

Back to the ITK: I think it sounds like exactly where it was based on the reports we’ve seen - it’s close, we probably gave them our ‘final offer’ and Romero’s going to try and do his part by convincing Atalanta it’s what he wants. No need to panic yet, just gotta be a little patient.

Fully expected to see this as a transition season so I'm not too bothered about that. Wasn't expecting the possibility of so many outs in this window in particular though, due to how short the turnaround is.

Oh sure, I get that. After losing Steve Archibald, I was totally devastated. It's more gutted at buying into the "one of our own" mythology that makes it hurt. But this club that I've loved all my life is bigger than Harry and will go on.

Heartened by the ITK about the deadwood going though.

That makes no sense. Those players got us a 7th placed finish. Surely, you want better this year, otherwise, what's the point?

Quick question just to see what you guys think…

If we sign Romero & Tomiyasu & Kane stays, do you expect more incomings or do you think thats us done after spending 100m approx?

Because with a new coaching team and a number of new players it would be reasonable to accept a mediocre league position whilst they settle in and figure things out. And then you’d hope the trajectory would be upwards. Whereas our current lot are in decline and would see us slip further down the table without a squad overhaul
