We also need to remember that we've got Sarr coming in the summer, so maybe the Amrabat loan will make sense to cover til then?
As I said before, the main thing in this window is to clear as much out as we can, while there's seemingly interest from desperate clubs.

Yeah, I'd love to sign a striker as the fact we only have Kane worries me but it's January and there aren't many decent options available.
Sarr is gonna be absolutely fucking amazing eventually, I'll be curious to see if Conte can use him as he's still raw.

Well yeah as long as Amrabat comes in as a loan and option to buy only. I agree

Absolutely, it appears to be nothing more than a short term loan for rest of season. Might be an option to buy if he was somehow amazing.

Ultimately it looks to me as a move to add a solid squad player that will contribute off the bench. Nothing to lose our heads about or start seeing as a comparison to someone on Kessie's level who, as you say, we've tried to sign this window but can't for whatever reason.

The transfer plans you know nothing about.

I read every post in this thread on a daily basis - mainly to stop you being ****s to each other. And yes, my description was accurate.

Just quote me next time if you have an issue with my vocab. Thanks xx
The transfer plans we know about through news and ITK. We might not have the whole picture, or even 10% of the picture, but what's the point in a discussion thread if we're knocked down with "you don't know anything" and "you're losing your mind" if people discuss their worries about a transfer window? Why not just let the people who know everything talk?

I'm curious when exactly it will be OK to complain about the transfer plans. It wasn't in Summer 17 when we didn't sign a winger, it wasn't Summer 18 when we signed no one, it wasn't 19 when we only signed 2 players over 20 years old. It wasn't 19 when we signed a bunch of Mendes buddies. It wasn't in Summer 21 when we didn't sign a new forward. It's not now when we're signing Serie A backups...

Probably the same sentiments being said by PSG about Ndombele…
Indeed, and you can understand why. If they come in and do well then fine sign them up, but if you think you have a better solution long term, don't commit in the short term.

not sure why paratici would use shit players as smokescreens but there you go.

anyway, lets hope ndombele goes to psg and traore comes in. at the very least that's something and we'd have at least 1 different option.

Conte wanted him at Inter.
Did he? Is this in his thread somewhere and I've missed it? Don't post in here if that's the case just let me know if I need to look back through his thread for it(y)

There is no obligation to post. You are not required to make noise. Making (vereing on angry) noise about things you don't know much about on the basis of rumour is where madness lay, and the start of a spiral that makes this thread unwieldy and eventually locked, which is what the less-noise inclined majority get annoyed about. And what others who moderate this site/forum get annoyed about too.

Trust you follow the thought process there.

Are people discussing it? Or are people just losing their shit

This thread has become so depressing that I ALMOST miss the wanking comments, almost.

Going to setup a regular contribution to site running costs later today.

It's after the window has shut. As it's always been. And I will be there with you, if the current situation remains.

I imagine the scenario is:

- we want to move out certain players
- We have concrete interest in those players for the first time and can’t miss the opportunity
- The replacement target for said players won’t be available until the summer (Kessie)
- we then either A) pay over the odds to fill that squad gap immediately with our lower choice or B) fill the squad position with an immediate functional player in case PEH, Skipp, Winks aren’t available and go back for the first choice in the summer.

I think it makes sense financially and footballing wise for the mid long term. In the short term he will be filling a bench spot that the others were filling. Meaning we’re no worse off for the remainder of this season squad wise but have dealt with a big squad wages problem ahead of the summer window

admittedly a very uninspiring unsexy signing

I absolutely do follow, and I'll stop posting about this now. I typically never post about the meta of these threads, I pretty much never post on this forum at all to be honest and I'm not trying to be a pain here or get things locked. I just largely rankle at the idea of what felt a bit like name calling and a harsh way of describing people who were just talking about transfers that we are linked to.
I'll stop there

Let's be honest, unless we lock Kessie up to a pre-contract his agent is most likely waiting for something better to come along, which most likely will, just like Vlahovic.

Poor teams signing a certain calibre of player is not any other team signing the “quality additions” you speak of.

Some perspective is required.

Some perspective is required I agree, for those clubs in their relative positions and situations those are some very good signings. Is it too much to ask for us to follow suite and make some very good signings relative to our position and ambitions?

There are a few articles linking him to Inter in the January window of Conte's first season there when Amrabat was impressing at Hellas Verona. Some articles that say Inter made him an offer for him. All seem to be pretty dodgy news sources, although apparently Di Marzio reported Inter had a meeting with Hellas Verona about setting up a deal for him.

Certainly implies that he's a player Conte is well aware of and has considered in the past as an option.
