We are doing the same. I suspect the last days prices will drop considerably, and Levy knows that.

Real Madrid are the reason this windows prices have been ridiculous with their pursue of Vinicius. 40m for a 16yr old. Now the 180m for Mbappe. They can't accept a NO. FIFA/UEFA should do something about it

Let market forces dictate prices. We as consumers of football are contributing to the demand.

Do you really think Wenger or Mourinho are sat at home, flick on the Skysports news and see what Koeman has just said and think "Oh Barkley wants to leave, I must ring my chairman to see if he can put in a bid..."? Like they never had a clue from agents and people in the game who would have been willing them to put in big bids once Barkley rejected his contract offer.

I guess JJ's second tweet clarifies what we aim to do this summer - we're going for the Italy player, Barkley and a RB as it stands (probably changes if Wimmer is sold).

You'd think this Italian player must be a highly sought after player for us to be so hush hush about it. Some of the players guessed in here wouldn't necessarily fall into the category I'd have thought.

I believe, IMHO, this is the wrong conclusion. A highly sought after player is a highly sought after player. Hard to keep it quiet. If one, on the other hand, is looking for somebody who could be the next big thing, but would prefer for him to not become highly sought after, one would keep lips sealed.

Barkley is easy to get done - Everton wants him gone, he wants to go, and we want him. Yes, this may drag on to the deadline, buts its not complex.

The Italian could be tricky since we don't know if the club wants to sell, or if the player wants to come - or any number of other things that could complicate a deal. If we assume that we are focused on that deal now - then its easy to see both deals done by the deadline.
