If it's true, doesn't surprise me to hear Townsend isn't great at taking instructions on board. He's often struck me as trying too hard to do something outstanding to get himself in the team, instead of just being an effective team player.

I still think he has a lot of potential and hopefully that's the kind of thing Poch can snap out of him.

I can't believe that about Parker... Townsend yes, but Parker. Surely the best part of his game was the ability to organise himself and those around him.

Don't think the fee is important: freeing up space for a new player and shedding some wages is the need here.

For a Club Captain i would be expecting at least £5/6M, depends on how much we want fazio in. I assume the reports in the paprs today regarding fazio and monchi director at seville, saying just waiting for the 8M to clear, once cleared i assume thats when Dawson will be officilaly moved on (hence bruce's comments saying deal in principle)

I hope we get more than 3m. Its time for him to move on, but last season we almost got 9m for him. How does that work out ?

For a Clunb Captain i would be expecting at least £5/6M, depends on how much we want fazio in.

He's not going to get games for us. Rather we replace and move on. TBH I've always said he was a Championship level player who made up the difference with heart and enthusiasm.

Earlier in the summer the papers were saying that the catch in the deal to Hull was that they wouldn't give him the contract length he wanted, Hull supposedly told him to go to Levy and get Spurs to pay him the difference between a 2 year contract and a 3 year contract.

By shorting the fee it would in theory allow Hull to take the extra money and apply it to Daws pay without us actually having to write a check...

I think that was the start of the season before last.

Two years off his contract, two years older, a clear decline in form all adds up.
