I was struggling very much to reconcile "give Conte what he wants" and "Conte wants Zaniolo". Then I remembered that what I think about it is completely benign and irrelevant.

Good to read Trix posts, pretty much prioritising outgoings but not exclusively on outgoings and we still have scope on the outgoing/incoming running order.
This is how I thought it would be! If we agree a deal for Zaniolo surely we get it done. Players will leave it may just be on loan as opposed to permanent.

On the outs. Unless I've missed it, we've not seen the likes of GLC, Ndombele, Reg or Winks training with the first team have we since retuning from Korea? I guess that is a good sign as there's no confusion on their part that this is really it this time

Im pretty sure a criticism aimed at Paratici from his time at Juventus was his inability to sell players, he’s apparently not as good at selling as he is at buying apparently

I could not disagree more.

Selling a player who may not want to leave is extremely difficult. They are on a contract (likely earning more than any interested clubs want to pay) so there is a four way issue.

Buying clubs value
Selling clubs value
Financial obligations of selling club to player
Player just does not want to take a perceived step down.

Paratici is experienced at this and will clear the decks. We have obviously been buying before we sell, and we can't just keep adding to total squad numbers indefinitely.

Was having this debate with a mate last week over the De Jong circus.

When a player is at a club in champions league and on a decent salary why would they be happy to take a pay cut and join a team not in CL.

It’s similar with us trying to sell our deadwood. It’s not easy to convince a player that they’re not going to play. Just listen to any Danny Rose interview and you’ll see how players think they deserve to be playing.

If both Rodon & Tanganga loaned or sold, surely, we are bringing in a CB in...hopefully a very good one

Rodon almost only ever comes on when replacing Dier so its fair to say Rodon is Diers back up. If we let Rodon go and keep Tanganga, we either need another quality CCB or he may use Romero at CCB if Dier isnt available then use Sanchez/Tanganga to fill in for Romero.

Pretty sure when Dier was injured last season Romero took Diers position and Sanchez filled the RCB role.
