Hate to pour cold water on this but the Bilbao president said on an ESPN interview a few days ago that Llorente would not be leaving the club as long as he was in charge,

Llorente is the right type of physically imposing front man we need, so I can see why we'd be interested in him if we don't stand a chance getting Carroll.

However, it doesn't seem very likely that a player valued so highly by his club would be sold so close to the end of the transfer window without bringing in a decent replacement. No club would leave itself in that sort of position, would they?!

ok llorente looks pretty good to me just the sort of player we need. But why oh why are we not in for Torres??? surely this must have crossed levys mind. if hes interested in going to chelsea, why not us ? we have a youngr more up and coming squad. I am not ITK but I can see levy moving for torres this window. whether he would sign is a different matter.

Isn't he the only non Barca or Real player in the International set up apart from the crap left back and the English contingent so he must have something surely. I'm sure you have to be Basque to play for Bilbao so perhaps he's not really even Spanish


I have read the ITK and this is what I believe; we have made an offer for Llorente and his club has looked favourably on it, however I don't believe that they've accepted it, the player is gagging to come here and it is a done deal yet.
That's what I believe because that's what the ITK says and I'm happy with that.

Only Llorente is waaaaaaaaaaaay better then Benzema, having said that if that where to happen I would be more then happy.

This is probably pretty close to the truth. IMO, Bilbao will accept our offer but I don't believe Llorente will decide to come and play for us.

Yes, that would be excellent business. Taking a £160k a week loan player until May instead of someone who will be much cheaper.

There will not be any new strikers coming in. Keane is baulking at moving so why would we need 5 strikers and VDV. We currently play 1 striker + VDV.

IMO the more pressing issue is how we defend in midfield, and Diarra even at 18m should be our main priority right now.
