Oh BOLLOCKS. Now I've started to believe these Llorente rumours. I was mocking it a few hours ago. Damn you SCers, damn you.

So it's come down to Llorente now ? Llorente is basically a Crouch upgrade, not the uber striker, and not the prolific finisher to replace any of our three amoebas.

I still don't understand the logic of not going after Suarez, as we a clearly need a player like him as well as we are trying desperately to offload Keane and Pav (and hopefully Defoe soon).

I don't know what to believe about who decided not to pursue the Suarez deal, but whoever it was fucked up. There aren't many players with his skillset, temprement, age who we could buy and and would fit our structure.

Fucking crazy.

Liverpool were looking into Llorente in the summer, apparently (and we were this fall).

If we had Dzeko to City, Llorente + Suarez to Liverpool and Torres to Chelsea this window, it really would be time to get the razor blades out.

Please let us sign Llorente he is quality and would lead the line perfectly for us. He gets himself into great positions to score and he normally does. Please Daniel get the finger out and get this done.

Liverpool wanted Llorente a couple of weeks ago and were told to fuck off. In Spanish, I presume. So there is certainly an interest from that side.

I know!! This is my point about Spurs' ambition. We have had our best 2 seasons for a VERY long time and are in great financial health and we are not competing with our rivals. They are improving themselves, we are staying still.

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm meeting up with my best mate in a couple of weeks for an all day drinking session. He's a Kop season ticket holder. I'll cry off if that happens :eek:mg:

If Spurs really do have an interest in Llorente then I really hope Liverpool dig their heels in over Torres staying. He's one of the few players who are exactly what we need and checks all the financial boxes.

llorente stats posted on another forum...
His record in all comps is 54 in 112 in the last 3 seasons (incl
this current one)....
and..... 40 in 89 in the league in the same time period..
Not bad, a lot better than Keane and Crouch put together
over the last 3 seasons!!!!!
Keane (34 in his last 98 games, incl his spell at Celtic, which
was 16 goals in 19 games, so he has 18 goals in 79 games)
Crouch (21 in his last 84 games)
Between them 55 goals (one more than Llorente) in 182
games.... just the 70 more games....
Perspective people..... and he is 5/6 years younger than
both.....

Thats an understatement! Suarez is also not an uber striker. He is very good, but he is not on the same level as Torres/Drogba/Eto'o etc. We can clearly not afford the wages of uber strikers. I thought he would be good for us, but I don't think its clear that we needed a player like him.

We need upgrades on our current strikers. Would Suarez have been considered upgrading on Defoe, Crouch or Pav? Closest would be Defoe. Llorente, would be an upgrade, a mahoosive upgrade at that, on Crouch and Pav. Surely this is more pressing in our team??

I completely agree. We need to keep on progressing and by adding Llorente we are buying someone that fits into our system which at the end of the day is the most important thing. Imagine Llorente holding the ball up and bringing Lennon, Bale, VDV and Modric into play. Plus he is a predator in the box, quality finisher and he gets on the end of tap ins.

I think signing Llorente instead of Suarez would be much better for our team and it caters for our needs.

Totally agree, Llorente ticks all the boxes for our needs, more so than any other striker we have been linked with. He is not just an individually great player but a fantastic outlet and should slot into our side making an instant impact.

I don't necessarily want to go down the route of making an assessment of a player based in the league they play but nobody can say Suarez is currently in the elite banding of strikers - Not even Ronaldo or van Nistelrooy were in that category when they moved to Barcelona and Man Utd respectively.
