Yep. This. Was just about to post clarifying. The 'RT' bit means he's retweeting someone, this time @JamesMawFFT, he then asks the question. Sid's answer is the first part of the tweet, "Don't know. Think unlikely."

For those unaware, SSN saying Keans has West Ham medical.

Also one of their top stories is Pienaar saying Spurs are more classy than Chelsea.

Ok guys, lets all get sensible here. Buying a striker/player is not like pick n mix. You can't just go out and say "I'll have that one, that one and oh! chuck that one in too for good measure" These players are at clubs and these clubs either want to keep that player or sell for a price they think is right not what we want to spend. Then we have to look at the possibility that the player may have expressed his desire to leave but not to Spurs.
If we have fcuked up (and it looks like we have) I think it's because we didn't do enough homework on these players to see what would be required to get them and if they would be willing to come.
My gut feeling is Harry thinks Defoe will hit form and start banging them in again. Bale has put a few in as did VDV and will wait till the summer and look to bring in Carroll or a player of that type. The flaw with that plan is we will finish 8th (if Defoe don't pick up) and not even get into the europa league, then we're back to not having the offer of EL or CL football not to mention the chance of losing some of our key players

this is where the frustration is for me, of course I (like many others on here) know that we cant just cherry pick any of these strikers but a decent scouting network since the summer would have picked up on this and identified AVAILABLE or realistic targets and got them almost tied up by now, not leaving it until the last day as there will be no time for the selling team to get a replacement. Last day deals are only for squad players who cannot get a game for their club. we have fucked up and theres only one man to point the blame im afraid. Harrys misplaced loyalty to crouch and defoe, not to mention the fact he clearly doesnt rate pav and we are sadly doomed in my eyes. wasted season in the champions league (dont get me wrong, great experience and all that but why be a one season wonder?)

Firstly, how do you know that we aren't pushing for a slightly more unrealistic Target because those that are "available and realistic" might not be any better than we already have?

Secondly, your "last day" theory is utter garbage....berbatov, VDV, possibly Torres this window.

Lastly, "we are doomed"? When we are still not doing too fekkin badly. You call yourself a fan. Where's your fekkin support!

You say i call myself a fan but thats exactly what i am, a massive spurs fan that wishes to see us succeed and progress, and after last seasons highs i would hate to see us take another step backwards.

your correct we arent doing badly BUT how well would we be doing if we actually had a striker that would score? we look so toothless without bale and vdv its ridiculous. If one or both of these got injured do you think we could compete with the top 4 right now?

we struggled to score against several of the lesser teams this year, wasted points that will add up come the end of the season.

Why do people always get in a panic in the transfer window? We are still in the Champions League and have a chance of winning it. We are 5th in the league and still have a chance of getting in the CL next year. We are still in the FA cup and have a good chance of winning it. All this without our strikers performing. Defoe is coming back and may start banging them in and the others for all the moaning are all international strikers with decent records. It will be very difficult to get anyone who is better than them and their clubs will not want to let them go (just as we don't want to let the likes of Modric or Bale go). Harry is doing the right thing and not buying for the sake of buying (as we have done before). If no-one is available, then we should wait for the summer and keep faith in what we have, I don't want to go and spend £25-30m on a player and then learn he can't cut it in the prem and infact Defoe was the better option. Yes we want a striker who will guarantee 20 goals a season, but name me one for less than £30m?

I wasn't suggesting we would get Torres, merely the fact that he might turn out to be a last day signing for Chelsea. Your "last day" theory must surely apply to all clubs and not specifically to us, otherwise it would sound even more ridiculous.

And to seriously spout the "if someone gets injured" argument is a poor way to try to make your point. Injuries are unpredictable and can happen to anyone. Would shiny new striker do any better if Bale and VDV were injured? What if we paid £30m on a shiny new striker and he broke his leg in his first game?

Sorry, but I don't debate pointless "what if" arguments.

:stupid: Jesus I meant when we sold berbs to united who ever said we would sign Torres?

We have added to the squad who got us 4th last year and they didn't do too bad.

some decent points lilbaz and i totally agree with some of them but at the same time if this was resolved in the summer there would be no need. There is also no guarantee that any striker (epl tested or not) will score goals, just look at bent for us.

it is mentioned that vdv plays better with crouch yet if defoe is going to go on this run who will be dropped? crouch's knockdowns for vdv have provided a fair share of his goals but take that aerial 'threat' away and vdv must find other ways to score and although im sure he can it isnt a certainty
